Coffee flavor "extract"

Step 1. Get coffee

  1. get vg or alcohol or pg or some sort of solvent.
  2. Fill mason jar or bottle or beaker or container with a "scoop".
  3. Put about 30 ml of solvent inside.

  4. Lid on top of container and shake well.
  5. let sit in a dark place for about a week or more.
  6. Remove container lid and put coffee filter on top.
  7. Strain into different container.
  8. strain that into another container?
  9. shake well again and use 1% flavor in a 50/50 mix at 0.6% nicotine.
Anything horribly wrong or dangerous here? I've read previously the initial coffee solvent introduction should be used in a warm sink bath. Would a coffee filter even be the best thing here? I'd like to do this with VG but am waiting to get more before I can actually test it with coffee filters. If that doesn't work, what other kind of method for filtration would work with VG? Will the coffee "fuse" with the VG to where a filtration wouldn't even matter?
Regardless I am attempting this tomorrow night, if anybody has any input I would gladly appreciate it. Will be using a mason jar most likely. In the future I'd like to get 30 ml beaker to do this in. If VG doesn't go through a coffee filter I'll probably just use PG as a solvent. Or alcohol Sorry for horrible organization. And yes I am doing this at my own risk not liable bleah blar bahooningking can't sue you're not responsible for anything.
Will post results when complete.

here is what I do with VG tinctures, I would use some crushed beans instead of coffee grounds but thats just me. anyways after you have done your thing with the mason jar and its ready get some cheese cloth from the paint department from walmart or where ever. then take a 2nd mason jar and lay the cheese cloth across the top. you will probably need to fold it over a few times. then strt tucking it into the jar so it forms a deep bowl then use the lid ring to secure it. now pour your VG tincutre or extract whatever you want to call it into you 2nd mason jar. once full let it just sit and drain for a couple hours. you can repeat that step however many times until you feel like all the pieces of coffee beans are gone. not sure how you would separate the oil. coffee extracts I have made always have a lingering oily-ness to it. ......... purevapes sells FA espresso for 1.50. couple drops in your base and boom done lol. I think the coffee extract methods are over rated but thats just me and I am sure Ill catch some crap for saying it but for time, money , taste, longevity of coils all that just isnt worth it. FA ESPRESSO is where its at and clean.

you could put your mason jar in a crock pot also and heat it to 150-200 degrees for about 8-12 hrs and skip the week or 2 of sitting..... like I said I do this a lot just not with coffee, I have but its not worth all the trouble and wasted supplies....... either way if you do the week wait or crock pot warming your majon jar with the exctract before you filter it will thin the VG and it will go through the cheesecloth better

Heck if your looking for speed, you could just park your car in the sun in the Phoenix metro area (I use to live there). Sit your mixture on the dash board for 5 minutes. Providing the mason jar hasn't already melted, you can then pour your rapidly boiling mixture through the filtering material

Look at my blog for full instructions. I "borrowed" this idea from somewhere in this forum. It is very simple and good.

My current status. I used decaf coffee, and completely skipped the week or two of letting it sit. I saw discoloration of the solvent about 15 minutes, and figured It would probably be good enough after letting it sit in hot water for 10 min. Initially I used a syringe to move the mix to the funnel, however that was taking way to long. So I made two filters. The first one was wrapped four times with filters, and the second only one. The 4wrap's liquid is perfectly clear. The one wrap is noticeably discolored and is taking 10,000 days to complete. I am merely doing this out of an unhealthy curiosity with HOW tfa or lorann get their flavor in the first place. I would like to and am going to do a vanilla bean next, will report back with vape results.

You can get a somewhat decent extract from vanilla beans using PG, though PGA works best, despite the alcohol "flavor" and aroma when you mix. That being said, unlike coffee, which is normally extracted using heat, vanilla + heat do not mix and heat can potentially damage the rather fragile flavor provided by the vanilla beans.

Vanilla is one extract that takes time. You can do a coffee extract quickly or slowly and overall, it comes out the same, especially with heat, though with vanilla, age is how the flavor develops. I have extracts that have been steeping on for 8 months now and they've still yet to fully mature IMO.

Compared to a store-bought extraction, you're most likely not going to get the same potency in the short-term as most store brands use pressure extraction to speed things up by margins. There's still a few that prefer the tried & true steeping method and they allow the vanilla beans to steep for months and, in some cases, over a year.

<<snip>>

The process I use is not hard or time consuming.

End result. May or may not vape it tomorrow it, I actually feel that decaf was the wrong choice for a flavor such as this. Besides I kinda hate coffee without caffeine. I've already split two vanilla beans and doused them with PG. I'll let them sit there for a week or two, and I hope the flavor will at least be prevalent.
