I've been vaping for about 6 months now. I know a bit about vaping but I know there's a lot I still don't know. The setup I have is a Joytech evic battery with a kanger aero tank with a 2.0 ohm coil. The juice I vape is Fuzion Vapors Unicorn blood. The problem I'm having is the coil burns out within 2 to 3 days. I thought I'd try another tank so I bought a Nautilus aspire tank and had the same problem. I'm not sure if it the juice or maybe I'm vaping too hard. I really like the unicorn blood and would like to find a setup that will work with it. I'd appreciate any help I could get.

I have never used a Evic so a bit ignorant there but what kind of voltage or watts are you running through the coil? About 4.1 volts or 8.5 watts should be about right for a 2 ohm coil. People more familiar with the Evic and tanks you are using may have a better idea but I hope this helps a little until somebody else chips in.

Anyone? I don't want to go back to analogs but it's looking like the cheaper chose at this point.

The coil is actually burning out or you're getting a burnt taste? If the coil is actually burning out in 2 days, stop using the battery you're using and get something new. I went through atomizer heads often just because they all taste like crap within 5-7 minutes to me. I never burnt a coil out though in an atomizer head and went through a lot just because they all seem to taste terrible after a week. If you're getting a burnt taste after 2 days it could be too high of a ratio of VG in your juice. Also could be not enough juice getting to the wicks causing dry hits.

Try building a tank. Changed everything for me.

Not sure how going back to analogs is going to be cheaper at this point though. Don't know if that is a frustrated comment or what but a $1.50 coil every 2 days equals 5 cigarettes in my state. We pay $6.50 a pack in Michigan. So I could buy a new tank, use the 2 free heads and have money left over for juice in what I'd spend on 3 days of analogs. That and I don't have to worry as much about funding Hospice 20 years from now while I die in a bed regretting all the mistakes I made.

Singaw I use the battery at about 4 volts. Storm I'm not sure what the ratio is, but it's a sweet red color. I've don't wash the coils maybe that would help. And I use about 1/2 a tank a day so about, 1.25 ml. And wrxified I get a burnt taste and when I open the coil up it looks burnt inside. It might still be good like I said I'm still sort of new to this and still learning about stuff. I've never rebuilt a coil or built a tank. And when I was buying cigarettes it's $60 a carton which would last over a month. Just seems like I'm spending more on my ecig then I was on the regular stuff. I don't really want hospice either. I guess I'll just keep trying til I get it right.

Fuzion Vapors Unicorn Blood is the juice I use. They had it at my local shop when I bought my first setup and I fell in love with it.
I just bought a big bottle of the juice so I might try rebuilding the coils. Here a pic of the coils I just put in yesterday morning.

So it's ok that the middle part is black?

that coil is terrible, it needs cleaned !
as soon as you notice they start to fade in performance
pull them out and clean them
DON'T let them get excess build up if you're not rebuilding them
learn to "dry burn"
soak them in PGA (cheap vodka)

best bet is to start rebuilding your own

good luck

Considering the amount of use and juice you are using I would say that would be normal but ready for a cleaning. Some juice is worse than others but all coils eventually get a build up on them. Cleaning them is not difficult, mostly just soaking, and you can rotate out a few coils so you always have a fresh one.

yes, single coils are much easier than dual
you could build a dual as a single

sweet is what kills coils, I use a DIY sweet one in a 3ml tank that
won't last to the end sometimes

clean, soak, dry burn BEFORE they go south on ya
until you get a handle on rebuilding...

This ^^^. Your coils are not failing Kaida, they're just getting gunked up. Learn how to dry burn and you'll get a lot of use out of them.

Vape on :)

Get an RBA, RDA or anything that lends itself to rebuilding (Like a Kanger Aerotank which is fairly easy to rebuild as a single coiler). I would suggest a Kayfun clone or, if your budget permits, an RSST. Learning to build the coils and wick them is easy and fun. Of the two I'd say the RSST is easier and doesn't have leaking issues, but the K.fun is great if you pick a good one like this. If you build your coils with some thicker wire, like Kanthal 30, they tend to last a very long time and you can be dry burning repeatedly to keep them clean of gunk and carbon if you use silica for wicks, or change the cotton every two refills.

We have Kanger single coil tanks, and I have been managing to get at least a few extra uses out of each coil just by cleaning them. I have not gotten up the courage to try dry burning yet, but I did just order some organic cotton to try my hand at re-wicking. Anything to save a little money is good, although I must add that coming from cigalikes with cartomizers, we are finding that the clearos with replaceable heads are already saving us money.

Don't give up. It does get better as you get more comfortable and familiar with your gear and the vaping terminology. Anything I have learned has been from just cruising ECF and reading members' reviews and posts.

Glo, Kanger single coil heads are among the easiest to rebuild --great tutos everywhere, just google for them. Dry burning them at least once a week will even keep them tasting clean for as long as the wire lasts which can be a fairly long time. Trick is to cycle the on off pulses at 5 sec. Rotate a couple of heads and let soak one in alcohol overnight in a small bottle and give it a good shake. Then dry burn when you rotate again.
