Coil dead after one week? What's happening?

Not really enough information here to make a good call. Could it be that you got some juice that's got something that you think tastes funky? Have you tried different juices?

I use Kayfuns and ProTanks on my setups...my Kayfun coils -rarely- last more than a week before they start scratching my throat. The Protank heads are about the same. I almost never make it more than a week with one.

Next time you change coils, open the old coil up and look at it. Odds are good that you've got a big black ball of gunk there.

Did you dis-assemble and wash the topper before first use? There's often manufacturing gunk that will affect the taste, in addition to the above tips.

I equate what you're experiencing with a "hot" or "burned" taste. Perhaps you're running at too high a power level, which can cause that.
