I have an avocado 24 on a smok alien 220w mod. I've been researching coil building and I came across a site talking about having certain RTAs that require coil legs pointing in the same or opposite direction.

For my tank and mod which do I have to have, both coil legs in the same direction or both legs in the opposite direction? Also by both coil legs, it means both legs on one coil not 2 coils, right?

Thanks for the help.

I have and no one specifically makes any comment on coil leg direction for my exact set up
I also included a link for you to watch......they will actually show you how to build your tank. Most of the videos, but not all has the cc option, if their language is offensive.

I've seen this video before actually. Yes it looks like both legs are going in the same direction but he doesn't actually say it. Which brings me back to my main question is that because the tank itself requires it or is it also due to the mod he's using

Yes the tank requires it. Not the mod.....these days almost all tanks can be used on all regulated mods.

Right. Then which direction does my tank require because I've seen some YouTube videos where the avocado 24 had coil legs going in the same direction while other videos show the opposite direction ?
By looking at the post on the tank I would put a coil on each side with the legs going in the same directions and the coil position centered between the 2 poles. Typically one of the legs will go on the upper right hole pole and the other leg(of the same coil) will go on the lower left hole of the other pole.

Does anything happen if the legs are going in opposite directions. I also bought a few pre maid clapton coils and the legs are going in opposite directions?

Then you need to twist one leg to go in the same direction as the other one or there is no way to install it on the deck......
is this your first build?

I'm afraid you're not understanding. There's no way it would work with coils going the opposite way, at least on this particular tank

No I'm understanding, what your not understanding is I have seen it done both way for this specific tank hence why I can't find a straight answer so I came on here for help

Maybe for a first tank you should look at something that is not for advanced users only. Here is a tank that has great flavor and vapor and is easy to build on for beginners. It was my first one.

Kanger Mini SUBTANK Clearomizer

:)

Not a first tank, been vaping for some time now and I've built before. I was just asking a question based on what I just read and couldn't find a straight answer. That's all

I really don't see how. If you could provide a link where you saw both different types of coils legs we would understand your question better. How the coils are positioned depends on the deck of the tank you are building on and for this tank it requires a coil with the legs going in the same direction.
Now, If you look at the subtank kanger mini I linked in my last post, that deck requires the coil legs to be going in the opposite direction,

It is a choice. Use what works best for your situation.
