So I had finally gotten wire and a cordless drill. I went to do my first coils and noticed that the second group of wires I bought were Ni80 and my first group of wires are Kanthal A-1. Are these materials safe to use together? Do I have to worry about corrosion? I know two different metals together do not always play well together. My searching online has come up with little information. I have seen clapton builds where the core is Kanthal A-1 wrapped in Ni80.

Problem is the thicker wires I have are the Ni80.

I am rocking a Fuchai 200W and a TFV4 with the rebuildable replacement coil.

As far as I'm aware those two metals are fine together. You are fine using the nickel as the core material. Just be aware that it has a lower resistance than Kanthal, so adjust your build accordingly. Remember the outer wrap should essentially have no effect on the final resistance, it acts as a heat sink. So depending on what guages you are using, nickel on the outer wrap may have a lower resistance than the core which would be undesirable.
Perhaps be more careful when you are buying your wires next time :)
