Quick question. My son in law just asked me if on a four post rda if he can use center the coils better by using the opposite negative post with each dual coil. In other words. I will explain what I mean better I hope. Lets call the posts 1,2,3,4. Can coil one be wrapped around 1 and 3 and coil two be wrapped around 2 and 4?

All coils Must run from the center positive post to one of the negative posts. A connection from neg to neg will result in NOTHING, other than the creation of additional if unusable deck surface/obstruction.

I guess I am not being clear. Thanks for the reply but I think you are misunderstanding my question. I got my answer elsewhere anyhow, but wanted to explain myself better in case another new builder had a similar question. The RDA he is using (plume veil)has four parallel posts so if I am correct, it would go negative, positive, positive, negative. I have always seen coils wrapped going from first to second post on one side and third to fourth on coil on opposite side mirroring coils. My question was if it could be wrapped using post 1 (negative) to post 3 (positive) on one side, then post 2 (positive) to post 4 (negative). My son in law is working on making better looking, more centered dual coils and since we would rather both be safe I wanted to ask here.

I think I understand.. IDK about series wiring, didn't know there were atty's that allowed for it. BUT, if you atty has multiple pos posts and multiple neg post. It really doen't matter which pos post gets linked to which neg. As there is only 1 power circuit to an APV. My guess is the availablity of the multi pos and neg posts is location and ergonomics rather than electrical function..

yes, that wiring configuration will work just fine. As stated above, as long as there is Pos to Neg then its fine. Pos to Pos = NOPE. NEG to NEG = NOPE.

By the way - You made yourself very clear on your first post and I was thinking the same thing the first time I saw one of those atty's, but then realized what's the point?! It would just be something "else" to do really. No benefit what-so-ever.

Yes.
That's how a lot of people do it so that the coil lines up centered better with the airholes.

I understood you perfectly, and yes....that config will work absolutely fine. In fact....I build mine the same way (because it's pretty!) :)

You can do it the way you said. And unlike those who say there's no benefit, I disagree. Using posts 1 and 3 separates the coil legs further, and lets you build a longer and more well-centered coil.

Yes.

Thank you, thank you and thank you. You three got me exactly. It's funny how simple words can be turned around so much and taken so differently by people. My son in law was looking for ways to improve his (simple) builds to function better. We both have learned a lot about builds and although we keep it safe and simple we are both working on better (neater) coils, better air control (hence centering), and getting our wicking to our specific liking. He did test the build on an ohm meter and was getting a proper .5 read but I told him to give me a minute to make sure so he was safe. I love my family too much to have any of them risk a misfiring vape.

It's those tiny, little things.....coil placement, wick placement, coil height, etc that have drastic effects on how the vapor is produced and how it tastes. I'm still amazed every time I build, how such small changes on things can have such big results!

So create, experiment and play around! It's the most effective way to learn and explore the love for your new hobby! :) Just be safe. And learn all you can about building and battery and mod safety. Cheers!
