Coil Resistance On A Mech

I'm getting a hcigar Nemesis tomorrow. I have an 18350, 18490 & 18650 batteries. What is the ideal (if there's such a thing) coil resistance to use. I mainly use my KFL but I do have several PT 2's.

I currently have 30 & 32 ga Kanthal wire and using cotton wicks. Without having to use a lot of math, is there a simple number of wraps according to wire size and diameter of tool used to consistently wrap a certain resistance. I have a 5/64 drill bit I use for my PT rebuild's and usually do about 5 wraps with 32 gauge and getting around 2.0 - 2.2 ohms. I've been using an 1/8 screw for my KFL builds...

One last question...using the 30 ga & 1/8 screw...how many wraps to get 1.8 to 2.5ohms

I like resistance to be around 1.6-1.8 ohms for my mechs. I use 1.8 ohm heads on my PT or build to hit around that mark.

Really if you are just starting with your own builds, you should stay above 1.5 ohms for safety.

I am with mike start with micro coils around 1.8 and even at 3.7 mech you should be at almost 8 watts. Make sure your batteries are protected too. My pt2 is at 1.8 with cotton as well.

There is more to it than just resistance, don't forget about air flow. The lower the resistance ... the more air is required.

-1.5 ohms simply will taste burned if you don't supply enough air for your RBA on a mechanical.

So because it's a combination of factors, there is no one correct answer to your question.
