Coil Toy ????

I snagged a link from an old post the other day and it appears as though it will be helpful. I am confused about one thing on it though. When it comes to the coil type drop down window it gives two options....single/double coil RETURN or single/double coil FORWARD.

I dunno which one to use or for what reason. Can't seem to find an answer. Could anyone explain this to me. Keep in mind I am new to this stuff so try not to get to technical...lol. Thanks

Look at the picture of the coil when you change the selection. Return means both ends facing in the same direction or a half wrap.

As badbert said, look at the picture...look at the leg position.

Coil return or coil forward refer to whether the legs point in the same direction (coil return) or opposite directions (coil forward)

I think I understand. I been watching some clips from riptripper on making coils. He did one where it was one continuous wire and another coil that had two individual coils. So if I'm understanding this right. The forward coil would be used if I had two individual coils and the return would be a single continuous coil. Correct?

It has more to do with how your positive and negative posts are laid out.

You wind the coil so the leads point to the posts, this affect how you COUNT the loops of your coils.

The big one people forget to account for is the LENGTH of the legs, themselves.
