Hi!
I'm new to rebuilding and having a decent go of it. Having on and off issues with excessive popping and can't make heads or tails of it. Same coil and wick will pop like crazy, pissing me off. Then the popping goes away and it's smooth vaping away.
Using Kanthol with organic cotton.
Could it be that some coil (or wick) simply just need to "break in"?
Thoughts?

your cotton/rayon has likely slipped a bit or has gotten thin. - rewick,, and look to make sure none of the coil is touching anything metal/housing

That sound is little gaps between your coil and wick, which, with cotton goes away after a bit as the cotton swells. I use rayon and it gives me just a little popping when new, but quickly goes away, unless I don't get enough wick through the coil. But you can't pack that much cotton in the coil or you'll choke it. Now, if you are using a wire like twisted, you will get popping often. Just the nature of it, I guess. I've heard it's because with twisted, liquid will accumulate in the twist voids and then pop when heated.

Yeah sound like a gap between your coil and wick. No worries it's tricky learning how tight to wick your coils one of my learning curves I had trouble with for a little while.
