Coil wrap

I've searched but just can't find the answer to this:
I've read threads discussing wrapping coils using terms like 4/5 or 5/6 wrap around a mesh wick.
What does 4/5 or the like mean?
I read it as 4 or 5 wraps but don't think that's correct.

4/5 means that if you look on one side of the coil you'll see 4, the other side you'll see 5 (technically it is 4 1/2 wraps)
At least thats how I see it
