I think microcoils are easier than antything else. I got good at them recoiling my protank heads pre-reo. I'd reccomend looking at some of the tutorials in the stickies, or search microcoil on YouTube. But basically it's just:

Wrap as close as possible on drill-bit, put that sucker on your rba, dry burn till it turns red and pinch the coils together a couple times, meter that sucker, end with being in vape heaven.

Are you guys and girls just making this up to make it harder for noobs or what ?

School me oh wise ones...

What are the differences / advantages.?

Thanks
Josh.
smaller inner diameter with the same number of wraps = lower ohm rating of your coil.

Or

smaller inner diameter with same ohm rating = more wraps

I made a nano coil. And a maxi coil. Next up is a hyper coil and a tesla coil.

Wicking a Tesla coil is tricky business, good luck!

gotcha..
so, basically the opposite of what Rob shows on the Reosmods site videos then.

I like the "neatness" of a micro… I'm sure that says something negative about me..

Thanks jw.

I can't get the art of doing it the way Rob does on the REOSmods site and I don't care for silica, so I use this as a guide

Rob does a traditional coil in that video, it's like the coil you would get on a protank but better cuz it's not a protank. The traditional coil can be finicky, which is why I prefer micro's.

The only diff. between micro and nano is the inner diameter of the coil. Many people use pins or paper clips, I have tried a picture hanging nail. The nano was ok, didn't really notice anything diff. than my micro's.

Size from biggest to smallest: mini-->micro-->nano, super x has a table with the corresponding i.d. terms.

really, micros are super easy, the easiest coil to make imho.

....exactly. :) You can do micro coils if you use cotton as your wick. It's really easy to roll up and slide through the coil because you can make one end pointed. It's not so easy getting anything else (silica, for instance) through a micro coil. That's where Rob's method comes in handy. So....there's a time and a place for every type. I have done it both ways, but these days I'm all about micro coils with organic cotton wicks. It (to me) just doesn't get any better than that. Here's a thread that will be informative when you're wrapping coils. You can (will need to, at least at first) meter them and figure out the ohms, but this will give you some idea of how we're doing it....: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/446263-micro-coils-ohms-description.html
