Cold & Flu - vaping impact? idea?

I have the worst sore throat that I can ever recall. Started friday, and then turned fullblown yesterday with sinus congestion, cannot talk, and I am constantly hungry. Nothing really changed in my life except I was hitting my new titans pretty hard friday & saturday (like trying to suck a golf ball up a dryer vent hose). So anyway... TH is the last thing I want right now. I've settled into a pure VG "other brand" juice, and find my top5 favs are tearing me apart. I can only drink so much. And then it struck me:

Has anyone ever tried spiking their e-juice with something containing lidocaine like Cloraseptic? Sort of a vapers version of Sucrets? Get my nic, and soothe the pain at the same time. Thoughts?

ETA: Yes, I'm on HR Coolcart's, and using manuals so as to release the button early and draw in some cooling vapor and air into my mouth before inhaling.

OMG, I never thought of that. I would think the heat might affect whatever you added, but not sure if that would be bad. If you get brave enough to try it out, plz share your experience. Hope you feel better. Salt water and/or honey can soothe.

You may want to be careful inhaling drugs that are not meant to be inhaled. Just a thought. I have no knowledge to be honest.

Not to mention, the syrup would most likely kill your atomizer. Personally, since I started vaping I almost never get sick. I used to get colds and bronchitis several times a year.

I think it's a combination of not smoking and constantly surrounding myself in a cloud of PG which is known to be an excellent air sanitizer

I got a trade of another brand that was a menthol that my husband says tastes like Vicks and it helped me while I was really really sick.it was all I wanted to vape.

So you are proposing on using an e-cigarette as a drug delivery device? The F.D.A. wanted to ban e-cigs altogether by classifying them as paraphernalia or drug delivery devices under the FFDCA. So an E-Cig company sued the federal government and after a very expensive 2 year legal battle, e-cigs were not classified as a drug delivery device. However due to the nicotine in the e-liquid they would instead fall under tobacco classification and be subject to FDA oversight.

It doesn't matter whether these are "legal" drugs or not, simply substitute those with any street drug. The question alone simply serves as fodder for prying eyes still pressing that the court should establish e-cigs as a drug delivery device for nationwide banning purposes.

The promotion of such an idea directly or indirectly has no positive value in a vendor sub-forum.

SD, I was not proposing it. I was asking if anyone had. Your reading comprehension might be clouded by emotion.

SR219 - good point. No telling if it might numb alveoli, and what might result if it did.

I vape a lower mg menthol when I am sick.It just seems soothing and seems to help my sinuses.

See the only thing I vape during a cold is menthol with a cough drop, thats it, cause everything else hurts too bad to vape, or I do not taste it.

Took yesterday and wednesday off work, I felt that bad. Shame too it was around 80F and sunny both days here. I'm about 80% now and can actually talk and breathe. Thanks, EleanorR!

I think the spearmint is very nice when you have that stuffy thing going on..........not sure it's still on V4L website as I haven't ordered it recently.

Adding any chemical that is NOT designed to vaporize at high temperature, and then heating it anyway...not a good idea at all. Some ingredients are going to burn, and who knows what gets formed. Put your favorite cough syrup or Halls on a spoon and heat it till fumes are released...that will give you an idea of what you 're inhaling, and also the mess you will leave inside your PV.
