On all my dead atomizers that have been soaking in coca-cola..I have noticed there doesn't seem to be any more gunk that dissolves off of the coils once the cola has gone flat.........so I am thinking there is something in the fizz that does the cleaning. .....I don't have any..more fizzy cola left to try....:(

http://www.animated-teeth.com/false-teeth/a-denture-care-cleaning.htm :

Effervescent denture cleansers.

Effervescent denture cleaning products can be an effective way to chemically cleanse and disinfect your false teeth. While the specific ingredients found in the formulation each different brand's product will vary, you will typically find the following types of compounds in them.

Oxidizing (bleaching) agents -
Alkaline perborate, sodium perborate or postassium monopersulfate. These compounds remove staining and kill the bacteria harbored on a denture's surface.

Effervescing agents -
Perborate, carbonate or citric acid. Effervescing agents provide for the rapid disintegration of the product and also create a mechanical cleansing action.

Chelating agents -
EDTA. This type of compound helps to remove the tartar that has accumulated on a denture's surface.

Detergents and enzymes -
Sodium polyphosphate, everlace. These compounds assist in cleansing the denture.

Additional compounds -
Dye markers that provides a color change when the cleansing process has been completed. Flavorings and fragrances

Well my passthrough is acting up, but the atomizer is 90% of new quality. I only soaked it for an hour and a half and then i just rinsed it off with water and plugged it in. So i'd say this method works.

Glad to hear the Cola bath worked for you. Be sure to heat that coil up hot after the soaking to breakup the carbon. I am still running mine and doing some work on it and will report when I have some definiative results--inital impressions are look very good so far---Sun

So the carbonic kind of denture cleaner?
That's what's in the cola that's dissolving the carbon buildup?

Actually, we're under the impression, now, that it's the phosphoric acid, not the carbonic acid (though it could be a combination, thereof).

What we do know, for sure, is which the BEST cola will be, for this kind of thing.

Hi everyone, I'm new to vaping and almost completely off analogs Yah
When my atomizer fails I will try the Coke or RC but not the other cleaners because I don't know what the side effects of vaping them would be if not rinsed good.

It makes scene that a carbon build up would stop a atomizer from working. Carbon conducts electricity so it has two paths to flow through. The more carbon buildup the more the electricity will "bypass" the nichrome and flow through the carbon.

Good job Terraphon for finding this fix

Ok, kids...I'm about to offer one of my official EVO atomizers up to the RC Cola gods.

It's not weak or cold but I want to be able to say that I put my money where my mouth is and did the same things I'm recommending others do...With one of my own atomizers.

And an EVO atomizer at that.

It's 1950 now. I'll drop it at 1955 and pull it at 2055. That's one hour. After that I'll rinse it, dry it and cook it and then give it a run.

Results should be in by 2115.

ok

I know this is late but I was out talking to my roommate and vaping my balls off.

The evo atomizer came out of the bath mostly ok...The acids tarnished the chroming on the outside of the atomizer body a bit but that's alright, it's just some oxidation.

I hooked it back up to the battery and it's now producing about twice the vapor it was...It's absolutely INSANE. The thing seriously fogs like mad.

I'm so happy I could shit.

also...I got my roomy to try the evo.

He's ordering one next week.

Great News Terraphon!!! Quick question--Did you hit it with the heat or just dry it out, reprime, and place battery back on? Thanks--Sun
