It's amazing just how hard it is to clean out any chemicals that are used to clean an atomizer.....I have to agree that a cleaner we are confident is reasonably safe to vape is the holy grail....and so far terraphons coke or pepsi idea seems to be the best anyone has found yet.

Pete--I have used EasyOFF and that coil looks like it came out of the factory--but I am not about to reuse the atomizer--lol--the key is one that is safe and effective--a balance hard to find so far--Sun

well, the cola bath and cook thing worked wonders for me. I am sold on this idea. Thanks Sun Vaporer and Terraphon for helping me breathe new life into my atomizers.

Nicowolf--glad to hear good news again--I think that on atomizers that it will not work on--either the buildup is past the point of return or their is another issue--we are still working on it. More videos to come this weekend --Hope this is helping--Sun

I'm surprised I am just finding this thread now! I have about 17 dead or dying atomizers in a bag at home(yes i'm a packrat), and will be trying this method tonight!

Frubbish--Please give us an report once you give them a try--input is always needed as we try to resolve this issue and also state for us what kind of atomizers you have--Thanks again---Sun

ok terra, forgive me, and sun too since you're both the pioneers of this thread ;)

after soaking it in RC and then rinsing it out, is heating it the next necessary step? as in, do i need to build one of those little battery boxes like you have terra, and heat it up or is just soaking it and rinsing it, and letting it dry going to work?

i'm trying to find a definitive answer in the thread but maybe i'm missing it.

my first pilot and evo atomizers (about a month old now) are starting to show age, but still work, so i'm looking for advice on if i should just do the ol "rinse them out with water" bit or try this newfangled method? :)

Flitz--First the batteries and now the atomizers!! lol-- Glad to hear you want to give it a go. Here it is again --Cola Bath (couple of hours)--then rinse--then hit it with high heat either with a usb manuel passthough or a battery box---then re-prime and fire up--let us know how it goes as this method is evolving ----Sun

Flitz--Just to clarify ---you need the heat if it is dead. What Terraphon was alluding to was the lack of the need to heat for manitence. Heat with a splash of cold water may be revisited with cold water in some cases like were the atomizer does get hot but will not vape--More tests and hopefully more video to come this weekend----Sun

ahh! perfect then :)

i will probably give it a RC bath this weekend and see if it helps. hard to believe it has literally been a month with no analogs. time flies...my 401s are doing ok but i can tell a definite drop off in performance, might not hurt to clean them up!

(ps...loving the 901 still! hehe)

I did this with no heat on an atomizer that wasn't cold but almost completely clogged. It gave very light vapor.

I just dipped it in cola for about 1 1/2 hours, blew both ends into the sink, rinse with water, blow both ends into a paper towel, add liquid, vape.
I had to smoke on it for a minute to evaporate the rest of the water, but after that it worked perfectly.

I'm ECSTATIC to see that so many people are getting good results with this. We know that there will be some atomizers out there that are just dead and beyond any help. For those that aren't quite dead, though, this method seems to be the best way of reversing the aging process and bringing them back to like-new performance.

I'm also going to recommend this as a regular maintenance process...I will give you that this method WILL eventually destroy the atomizer - due to decomposition - but I also submit that if it lasts longer than it normally would, it's well worth it.

I have quit the pile of dead atomizers here. I tried the Coke for a hour or so the other day then blew em out with compressed air and there was no change. This is making me think tough...cola in a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner, I dunno if they are actually utra anything but I know I have seen those little jewelry cleaners that work by vibration and I'm thinking that may just do the trick in worse case scenarios. I'm going to see if I can find one in the next few days,,,,

EDIT: I just went back and read the entire thread and someone had mentioned this. Has anyone tried yet? :D

Incredible discovery for sure. My wife used to have one of those little vibrating jewelry cleaners for her jewelry. I will have look around the house to see if I can find it and if I do, i will give it a go and report any findings!
