Hey all! Great forum btw,

I'm getting back into vaping after really trying to quit analogs. I'm starting to get lethargic and I'm only 28... I tried vaping about 3 years ago with a dse901 and an epuffer eaze micro but due to device failure I eventually switched back to real cigarettes. I've basically been waiting for a discrete e-cig that works well. After seeing positive reviews of the Colibri I decided to take the plunge. Wow! this little device is great. I don't think I ever got a throat hit with the old devices (maybe due to the liquids I was using, can't remember for the life of me what they were) but the first drag surprised me. Great flavor (as someone else on this forum mentioned this mystery liquid is awesome, tastes like DuMaurier Distinct/lights Kingsize that I've been smoking for 10 years), a throat hit and all this in an e-cig the size of a Canadian king size smoke. I still love going out for a smoke at the bar. My friends all smoke and it's a break from the loud music and madness in the place. The Colibri is perfect for this. No one even notices that it's an ecig. I use to get bugged with the dse901 with people asking me to try it. I'm not a germ freak but I don't like randoms insisting they try it... It also made me become a spokesman for ecigs which I didn't want to do every damn time. The Eaze micro was ok at best but only lasted 1 month before the addy broke and I just never replaced it due to high cost. The only downside of the Colibri is the price of the carts is 11$-15$ CND for 5 depending on promos. They do have empty carts now for 8-10$ but I think you can only fill them 2-3 times. (anyone know?) I've watch videos where people are turning carts into dripping addys with drip tips. Can the Colibri carts do this? Now I'm looking for a device that I can use around the house. One where I don't have to replace parts all the time and can just drip, have it plugged in to my pc and walk around the house (Does a usb pass through hold a charge, or does it just work while plugged in?). I'm looking for something that the heating element will last a long long time. I would like plums of thick vapor so I need a MOD right? I just want to buy new liquids and enjoy them, not fiddle with parts. Any recommendations? I've been doing some research but this is madness, way too many options. Also if the person who was looking for the mystery liquid found a source, let me know because I sure can't locate it? Thanks

I started vaping about 6 months ago with the Colibri...I loved it at first for the very reasons you listed (pretty good throat hit, discreet). However, I ran into serious issues with the vendor Epuffer. I found that their cartomizers were of poor quality and very overpriced. Upon reading through the forums I found that others also reported having a lackluster experiance with Epuffer so I decided to go for an EGO instead.

I could not be happier with the EGO, as it gives an amazing throat hit and provides a massive amount of vapor compared to the colibri. It also costs A LOT less to maintain than the colibri. I think it would be a great option for you to use 'around the house' and such.

cheers and congrats on getting back to vaping :)

Hi Spine welcome to ECF! I started with the Colibri for alot of the same reasons & right away realised i needed a seriously sized PV & one that would be less expensive as well as less fiddlie. Epuffer refunded most of the $200.00 i had spent for basic starter & supplies. So i went to a KGO from Hooiser, Brent is a great & helpful guy. Then i jumped into Darwins, as i had been a long time smoker & needed the easiest fiddle-free-PV, i now own 3! So i really love the Darwins, & the Kick is coming out soon that will boost several mechanical tube modes available for a Darwin style tube PV, easier to find & cheaper too. Good Luck with your search, you came to the right place!

Hey dude, Im new to the forum.. but have tried several different kinds of ecig.. including the eaze micro you mentioned (which is crap.. I had the exact same experience as you!). I recently bought the colibri Nano, and have found that a blank cart can usually be refilled about 7-10 times before they start to taste like crap.. I usually buy 4 packs of carts, and a bottle of e-liquid to last a month. I have had this unit for about a month now, and right when I got it.. the connection for the charging cord where it plugs into the pack was loose... it worked for about 3 weeks.. but alas it is no longer charging my battery. I emailed cust. service last night, and recieved a Return Authorization this morning. 3 bucks to ship it back.. and hopefully they will send me a new one. I have had good experience with Epuffer customer service in the past.. so I dont expect there to be any problems.

To my knowledge there is no usb passthrough available for the colibri (Which SUCKS!) Most of the passthough device's do not hold a charge.. they simply draw constant power from a usb port.. no battery changing.. and ALWAYS nice thick vapour! Some of the newer ecigs are coming with a passthough battery which allows you to plug it in and smoke it while the battery is charging. I havnt had any experience with these.. but I would assume they do the same thing when plugged in to a usb port.

The nicest thing about the nano 2 pc design is that every cart has a built in.. disposable heating element or "atomizer".. Once it starts to taste like crap and not produce as much vapour.. you just grab a new cart and you get a new element along with it! That is why the carts are a little more expensive... you NEVER have to worry about a failing atomizer again with this design! Seems like this cig gets mixed reviews.. so its really what features work best for you.. I really like the 2 pc design.. less hassle than the 3pc.. and the charging pack makes it highly portable and nearly as convienient as carrying a regular pack of cigarettes. Nice and discreet.. decent smoking experience.. not a bad product imo!

Hope that helps a little... cheers!

Sorry to bump this thread, but I have some important questions and I guess it's more polite to bring this thread back up than to start a new one!

Any chance I could hear some more experiences with ePuffer's customer service? Having reliable customer service (even if you have to pay $3 for return shipping) is a must for me, as I'm extremely strapped for cash. The ePuffer Calibri Micro/Nano seems to have many failing-batter reviews, so has anyone had an experience where they wouldn't supply a new battery???

I'm pretty sure I'm going to take the plunge with them though. The new 2012 Nano seems to be the smallest eCig, the design is freaking cool (black with metal-mesh design on the filter), and it's a two-piece device, which is amazing - and at $25 with the discount, it's a deal! (if anyone has a or discount, lemme know!!! plz!!!) Can anyone tell me what color the LED is though? I prefer blue, so that it's not mistaken as a real cig in places where smoking isn't allowed!!

Also, how's the vapor and taste with these!? I'm not a vaping king (I'll be vaping sparsely through moderately) so I don't need the perfect product, but I do fulfilling vapor (my friend's cheap gas-station e-cig was an instant huge mouthful compared to my recent Blu Disposable, and a decent mouthful is all I need - a little more than the Blu). But I actually don't like the heat and throat hit of many e-cigs, so a e-cig that has less hot or harsh vapor is fine to me.

I agree 100%. My first e-cig was calibre; and it did not perform well at all. I found the entire experience horrible to be blunt. Everyone was raving on how great vaping was, and I was not feeling it all. I almost tossed this concept out; until I tried the 510; and now I know what people are talking about. The colibi is poor because its not industry standard, the carts were terrible, tasted bad to say the least; no matter what E liquid you used, 24ml- no kick. 510 however is like WOW! That is true vaping
