I've since lost or loaned most of my old stuff, but a couple of weeks ago I found a DSE901 in the mid-section junk holder in my car. Bubble-gum pink, so pretty! And the battery still worked! Good for a show-off trophy, but those didn't get me off cigarettes and no way would I go back to that!

These are my early gear: M402, Laser point, Super T in 801 and 510.

I still have my original V2 kit that I first bought three years ago. It was good enough to get me to quit on day one and never go back, but I wanted more pretty quickly after that. Though on the subject of nostalgia, I think it's been a theme, with regard to how I've been stocking up lately. I'm not purchasing high wattage, TC devices or ridiculously complex rba's with several moving parts. For me? I think I'm almost relishing the opportunity to go back to a much simpler way of vaping, as the industry has become almost too complicated for me to comprehend. So it's been all mech mods, simple VW devices and RBA/DA's that are as stupidly simple as possible. :)

Hey all y'all old-timers, remember them cigalikes you started with?

Yeah, the batteries lasted 30 minutes.
Yeah, the cartridges held about 20 drops.
Yeah, they were fiddly, nearly-useless, and full of dry hits.

But come on, every now and then you kinda miss them right?
Remember the little LED on the end?
That was cool, right?

Yeah, I'm feeling a little nostalgic.
Wait, is it just me?

I still have my first vaping device and it still works great. Provari mini v2.5. Still not a scratch, dent, or blemish on it. My vaping has def changed since 4/5 years ago but it still works perfectly. Worth every penny.

For millions of people who haven't tried vaping yet, those highly overpriced, convenience store, cigalike kits will possibly be the only thing available to them in the not too distant future!
I know right?
I guess I should careful what I wish for.
:)

Pics of old gear showing up?
That's a new one, but I'm on board.

I started with an NJOY cig-alike and quit smoking with it. I remember the Janty Stick......I was so proud of it, along with the first mod that NHaler sold (can't remember the name). I just recently went through my old stuff and discarded a lot of it. I still like the 510 attys though to test flavors. I still have all my old tube mechanical mods....never know when I might need them.

I'll ignore that comment about old o_O

I pulled my very first Joye 510 180mah out 4 days ago to show my grandson and his friend. It will be 6 years old in 3 more weeks and it still holds a charge. :) I still like and often use the 510 attys but those carts on the end with our blue foam still suck as bad today as they did back then ;) :D BUT, that combo gave me what I needed to quit smoking so it will always hold a place in my heart  and I'll always keep it to remind me where I started.

I love the little 510 short attys and the JoyeTech cone shaped attys w/drip tip for doing the 100DTT when making & tweaking new recipes. I've ended up with 50+ new 510 shortys in SR and LR (mistake by vendor who didn't want the extras back). Also found the JoyeTech cone shaped attys in SR & LR for $.50 each w/drip tip, on clearance a month or so ago. Have about 30 of them and have been sharing some with a few newbies. I bought several RDAs for my stash, but for now and a long time from now...the tried-and-true, old school, attys work great for my taste testing. Even use some when I want great, true, flavor while relaxing watching TV.

You folks who started out on the old stuff, what mod/tank/kit or whatever was it that came out and made you think, "Holy crap, this new technology is amazing."

For me, the Epic Milestones was the release of the eGo and when Variable Voltage devices hit the market.

I've said it Many Times before. And I'll say it again. The Blu was the Coolest, Sexiest, e-Cigarettes I ever owned. And the DSE-109 (forerunner of the RN4081) is what allowed me to Quit Smoking. So it has a Special Place in my memory.

But when the eGo came out, it Very Quickly supplanted everything I owned.

And Variable Voltage was, to use an Overused phrase, a Real Game Changer.

EDIT: :?:
I had to read it more than once to get it :D
I agree, when VV came on the scene I though to myself....now this is what I'm talking about  Still occasionally use my Vision Spinners 'specially when out and about.

Mine still holds a charge but the threads are stripped.

I started with the most recommended kit of the day- Joyetech 510. I got the No Box version from Cignot. What a deal that was. Within 10 days, I was off the smokes, for good. I made it work. I had to. Along came the straw mod, and I was pretty thrilled with that. At some point, I just started straight dripping on the atty, and that is my vape of choice to this day (upgraded batteries along the way).

I guess I have been lucky because so far I've not had any of mine strip out. If it were to happen though I think I would somehow attach either a 510 to 510 or a 510 to ego adapter if the battery was still useful. Maybe use something like JB Weld on the threads of both adapter and battery. Screw the adapter in and let it set up. May be a bad idea because I don't know if JB Weld is a good conductor. I am sure someone will correct me if it is a bad idea :D
