I used cig-a-likes (volts) for the first 6 months and on and off for another year (along with egos). Totally got me off a 40 year 3 pad habit. I framed my first sleek silver volt with a carto and labeled it with my quit date. Still have a soft spot in my heart for that one.

I came across some old ones in a drawer a few months back but couldn't find a charger. I decided to add a charger to my next order (a bit hard to find) and fired them back up. Nope. Back in the drawer. Not as good as I remember them. Oh well.

I tried Green Smoke first and failed. I think it was a couple of years before I decided to tried again. I was going to order more Green Smoke stuff and hubby told me about this guy at work with some kinda vapor thing that looked like a pen. I thought those things were huge and I didn't want to try them. I finally did some research on them. Ended up at Stormy's Vapor Cellar and bought an eGo kit. I smoked 2 cigarettes the next day and then I was done. Been vaping ever since. :)

I used cigalikes off and on for around 5 years, until I discovered Egos. Started because I had to quit smoking for 4 months for some surgery. Somehow I stuck it out for 4 months sucking on them almost non-stop.

They were called E-Light Elite. Started getting them at a mall kiosk then moved to on-line when the kiosk closed down. Helped me cut down a little. I thought that was all there was.

The web site said the igniter section needed to be replaced regularly but I didn't really get it so I never replaced them. Maybe that was part of the reason they didn't work too well for me. Then they changed the system so the coil was built into the cartridge and that helped a bit.

From time to time I looked them up because they were on my favorites list. Checked a couple of months ago and they aren't around any more.

Kind of wish I had kept a few just for historical interest.

What type will they make us go back to?

That's the real question !

I started with a Janty Dura, and yes to all of the above, hated the cartridges that lasted two minutes, low battery life etc and would really hate to have to go back to all that(i have enough stock so I wont anyway ;) ).....the only thing I miss-maybe- is the cute little blue LED at the tip!

Nope. Not that old here.:pervy: I started with a 650mah plain old eGo with a 510 atomizer. It had a little hollow mouthpiece filled with foam that you would drip to fill up and then use to vape. They were all the rage for us newbies back when I started.
Haha, pretty much the same thing i was getting ready to post.I had to go new school and go with an ego twist for my first set up though.I did try a cigalike after that, and it was not good,so if i had tried to switch using one of those,i would not have succeeded.

Some times I miss the form factor. One day, many years the future, there will be cig-a-likes that will last a week on one battery, have concentrated, condensed liquid that will also last a week and when you flick them, the end will spark off embers like a cigarette does but without the risk of forest fires (Although people forget that forest fires are nature's way of cleaning things out and starting anew - A fact that I, the amatuer, had to remind the "expert" Forest Rangers of in Sequoia National Park the last time I accidently burned down 65 acres and some really old trees, which frankly, at 400 years old were getting up there. They didn't think it was funny when I called myself the Dr. Kevorkian of trees.)

And I'm sure those Forest Rangers discuss your valuable lesson to this day...

My experience with cigalikes is limited. We've had the blu disposables, which tasted pretty good but the vapor wasn't much and they only lasted 2 days at best, with low usage. Next we moved onto the MarkTen, which was a good step up from the blus. At least the battery was rechargable, and I found out I could open the cartos and drip some juice in. My fiancee moved on to eGos while I hung on to the MarkTens for a while, because I thought they were enough, but then I did move on and moved on again with a small box mod.

We still enjoy the MarkTens occasionally, me along with my box and my fiancee along with her eGos. The reason for this is because we keep getting coupons in the mail for them... there may be better things with more value, but the prospect of paying $2 for a new MarkTen kit and some refill cartos still attracts us. We recently tried the Fusion flavor, which we like, but I still like the classics more I think.

I find the MarkTen gives a bigger throat hit than my box, maybe because I vape either 12mg through my Vivi Nova and 6mg through my Nautilus Mini, and the MarkTen is equivalent to 24mg nic?
