Comfort Tip question

I ordered a bunch of the comfort tips.. love the shape and the softness but I'm having a horrible time getting past the rubber taste. I've washed a couple with plain water (cold and then hot) then did a baking soda rinse and still that rubbery taste lingers. Anyone got any suggestions how to get rid of that?
and I'm crushed that I can't use them on the nanos

Maybe a soak in lemon juice or coke? It does eventually go away

lemon juice.. ok - no carb beverages in the house though..
