Story time...

Well, I fell out of the vaping habit last year. I'd bought an Intellicig EVO about May 09 (black with blue LED, it looked so funky) and almost by accident, nearly quit smoking. From 20 a day I'd dropped to 0-2, and as a 12 year smoker with no intention to quit that's quite something.

Then in September I went for a weekend in London, came back and started a new job etc - and somewhere amongst all this my ecig got forgotten.

Anyway, I've been out running recently as my regular squash partner has been rather to busy to play recently. I'm not a very good runner but I've been steadily improving. It's becoming increasingly clear that I've hit a wall stamina-wise at a couple of miles and it got me thinking how much more I could do without the cigarettes. That, and perhaps turning 30 has made me take stock a little more. But I do enjoy those smoking...

So I dug out my old EVO and some very old EcoPure and fired it up. One atty still working and a couple of batteries seem to limp along for half an hour or so. Still, it felt like old times, but it quickly reminded me that I'd outgrown the EVO by the time I jacked it in last year. It just wasn't satisfying enough - not enough vapour, inconsistent draw, short lived batteries.

It brought me back here, and oh wow, things have moved on! Drip tips? AVS? New models, new mods! You mean to say the Screwdriver is no lobger the state of the art? The gadget freak in me is intrigued.

I went online and, in a complete change of device mentality - partly down to my enjoyment of my flatmate's, now sadly broken, shisha - I've ordered an Ecig City 510 passthough, a 501 atty, some drip tips (I've always been a dripper) and a bottle of new VG high nic menthol liquid. Most of my smoking is done at home, or at least within the vicinity of a USB port, and I can always buy a mod down the line if it's succesful.

So, all my vaping history is with an M401/402. What can I expect from my jacked-in 510 experience? Will it be a big difference - an upgrade perhaps?

510 should be better. I went that route then ended up with an eGo, which is just a 510 with a much bigger battery. Taste was about the same, but a little better.

The big change for me was a LR atty for the eGo. 3X the vapor. Closest to real cigarette yet ! But a LR atty may not work with a passthrough since it draws a lot more current-- over 2 amps. If the passthrough has a battery in it it might.

At any rate, you've GOT to try an LR atty ! A few people don't like them, but I'd say the vast majority do.

Yeah, I am interested in the LR atomisers but avoided it this time because the PT runs at 5v and I think it might burn out.

Not that it matters anyway, I got everything through yesterday. The performance is immense. Honestly, miles more vapour than the smoke I could get with a cigarette! With the menthol VG flavour I'm using the experience is almost identical to smoking shisha - not a massive throat hit, but loads of vapour and flavour . Incredibly easy to use with the drip tip as well, this really is in a completely different league to what I had before. If I can find an ecig or mod that performs this well then I'll be very happy indeed!
