I've been using ecig on and off for a year now. I'm not sure if it's the wrong choice of ecig/atty or flavor/nic percentage that makes me go back to analogs. So I thought I'd share my experience with ecigs. I'd be grateful to hear your suggestions and comments.

I started with regular 510 batteries, the small ones. Then I got into Riva. Now I have two Rivas and an inferno battery. I've used LR, and regular atomizers with dripping. I've used boge 510 cartos, and royal smokers E2 R2 R3 R4, and usb passthroughs. I'm relatively satisfied with the way the attys and cartos work. They are relatively easy to use and carry in pocket. but:

vaping for me is something I have to do constantly during the day. If I stay at home I'd be vaping most of the day, and that prevents me from going back to analogs. But if I don't do that continuously, it doesn't satisfy me. When I smoke an analog I don't need another one for 2 to 3 hours, but with ecig, I cannot just step outside my office and vape for 10 minutes and go back to work. It doesn't work for me, I want more and I have no idea why.

I actually use relatively high nic percentage 18mg. I feel dizzy with the first puff. I went for 24mg to see if I could stick to ecigs with that, but man 24mg is strong, it's not for me. I've had juices from FSUSA, BWB, liberty flights, madvapes. Different flavors and pg/vg. I used to like BWB espresso and applewood, but I got over them. My other favorites have been FSUSA coffee, french toast, and pomegrante.

I stopped vaping for a couple months until a couple days ago. I ordered a couple juices from sweet-vapes, and have been using the old FSUSA ones that I bought a year ago. To my surprise they still taste good. I've had a couple analogs also. I really want vaping to work for me but I guess my main problem is the need for vaping all day nonstop, which I can't do due to working in the office. :(:(
Do you feel the need to vape all day continuously also?

i think from what im hearing is that you only have a limited number of times to go outside since you are working in an office.

Therefore, you want to make those times you go outside to "count", whereas with vaping, its something you continuously do, so you think analogs are the way to make it count.

I think the thing to do is to get use to the higher mg nicotine juices, and get some PG and VG and dilute it a bit until you can say "Ok, this is exactly the strength im looking for."

Then whenever you go outside, you know you're essentially smoking an analog level strength, but vaping.

Yeah, vaping is amazing and i wish all the bosses and people would know its just vapor.

Vaping is different than smoking for sure. For me it's more about maintaining a steady flow of nicotine during the day rather than the short bursts with a cigarette every hour or so. When I made my switch to vaping I was at a point where I really didn't enjoy smoking. The taste, the crappy feeling, smelly clothes, smelly car, ect... I still smoked for the nicotine and action but I was fed up with the negatives. So the switch to vaping was very easy after the first couple months. Once the habit of going to a gas station every other day was gone I just put that part of my life behind me. Now a pack of smokes is just not an option I would consider. If the difference between cigs and vaping doesn't fit with your lifestyle I bet makes it much harder to stick with it. If you still do enjoy smoking I think it would be even tougher. I wasn't just switching because I knew I should and it would be a good thing for my health. I was genuinely disgusted with cigarettes but didn't have an alternative that was better until e cigs. I would recommend something people probably wouldn't. I would drop your nic level down. You will adjust within a few days and then just drop it again. The higher my nic level the more I vape. For the first few days after a drop in nic level I vape a bunch but after I get used to it, my vaping levels off again. What it comes down to is vaping is just a different animal. You have to look at it for what it is and not how it compares to a cigarette. If you still really enjoy smoking, maybe you aren't ready to switch to vaping yet. I think you may still be missing some of the added effects of the other chemicals in a cigarette, other than nicotine. Nicotine on it's own with vaping doesn't have the relaxing effect I got with cigarettes. Not to mention the other addictive chemicals. So unless you can get over your cravings for these effects I think you won't be satisfied with vaping. Good luck to you.

Ok, rule number one, don't beat yerself UP!!

Rule number 2, if you want to smoke at work, by golly, SMOKE at WORK. BUT, take yer personal steamer with you when you go out :0) reach for that first. Remember that any time you DON'T smoke it's good. Oh and dont' tell me you can't suck an analog down in the last 5 minutes of yer break /grin. ANY of us could have done it in a pinch LOL, but go easy on yerself. I firmly believe when your ready, you'll swap over.

I DO understand the smoking at work. I was still doing that for MONTHS (good thing I only get 3 breaks a night huh?), and I had a "smoking" buddy. Finally I bought her an Echo-E kit and 60mil's of baccy flavored juice, they where different kinds. Guess who my new vaping buddy is LOL.

You are incorrect in a key area of your logic. 18 mg is not high concentration. It is very low.

All in your own good time. Been vapin around a year and a half. Smoked for more than 52 years. Did both for six months or so. When quitting tobacco I wore the patch, chewed the gum and smoked my head off. Ordered my ProVari during the pre-order, got it by Christmas. Somewhere along the line since then, don't know when for sure, don't even care when, I haven't smoked tobacco for more than six months. I look at this like a "roll your own" endeavor. All in your own good time. I wish you luck with your quit. JMHO

Cheers,

Perhaps you could try a nic replacement like snus to get you by in the office. There is a sub forum here on ECF: Smokeless tobacco Its not something I would try but it might help you.
Ditto, Snus is not dip and you don't spit, and then there's Stonewall's dissolvables but you have to get used to the taste. I use both and when I'm somewhere I can't vape I stick a snus pouch in my upper lip or a Stonewall's in my lower and don't have to worry about anyone noticing and still get my nic.

Good advice. I've been vaping for about 3 months. In that time, I've bought about 3 packs of smokes. Not sure why, just did. I wind up smoking 2 or 3 of em, think they're gross, feel guilty, and toss em. But hey, 6 or so cigarettes in 3 months isn't too bad at all. Point is, if you have to mix in the cigs, go for it. A huge cut in smokes is much better than smoking full time.

I find that people who vape and smoke have a harder time making the switch. Cigarettes have a mighty hold on us. They do not give in easily. Try just depending on you E-cigs for a while..maybe at a higher strength..inhale slowly..don't go at it like a steam engine so you don't knock your self out. It is very different then smoking. Once you ajust, you will find yourself less and less drawn to cigarettes and may be able to reduce your nic strength.
Case in point, my husband. he won't or can't just depend on E-cigs. Therefore he can't quit or even slow down cigarettes. He has COPD and other health issues, so you would think he has even more incentive..but that's not the case. E-cigs may not be his thing, but he has tried the rest to no avail. And yes we have tried him on lots of mods and brands. In my case it was love at first vape, I have never looked back.
Good luck to you!

Well, maybe change your perception. You seem to be saying that if vaping does'nt replace ALL your analogs, that you/ it has failed.

If you're ok vaping while not at work, you're only having those 3-4 smokes a day. That's a big deal for most people.

+1

What works and doesn't work is different for all of us. I still tell myself I can smoke if I really want to, and I count the cigarettes I haven't smoked and celebrate that success. By giving myself permission, I take the pressure off and vaping feels like a choice rather than a directive.

You were smoking lots more than you are now, so feel good about the progress you've made with vaping and don't torture yourself about the challenges you're experiencing. Don't give up, but please don't beat yourself up!

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments, and the support. I used to smoke 5 analogs a day. My doctor told me 5 a day wouldn't count, but the problem is you're going to smoke more, and it happened. Lat week I realized I smoked 8-10 a day, and had to re-start vaping. I've had 4 analogs a day for a couple days now. It works and it doesn't. I guess I have to wait for my new flavorings and the dual-coil carts to arrive and see if that helps.
I'm going to take it easy. No pressuring myself to quit analogs. Btw, I love the taste I get from my 2.1 ohm atomizer and dripping, but it's not hassle free. I'm using the CE2 carts and hate them. They produce good vapor but no flavor. Please suggest me a good cart...
