Hi everybody!! For those of you that remember me, just wanted to stop by and say hi and let you know that even though I haven't been around I am still an avid vaper. I found my niche of a few juices that I liked, stocked up, and have been content with my ego kit that I bought about 18 months ago. Being on here tempted me to try many different things, most of which I didn't like, lol, so I have been laying low and sticking with what works. Well after a long run of 18 months, my ego is on its last leg. I wanted to get the same thing but when I went looking around online I felt like a newbie again with all of the choices and not knowing what anything is. There are eGo-c's and q's and k's and twists, VV's, upgrades and LCD's and crazy atomizers and cartomizers!!

I know the vaping world has evolved during my absence and I am wondering if it is time for me to try something new. For all of you dedicated drippers out there, do any of these new products compare? I don't like VV and I don't want a mod, I am just talking about something that will work with an ego battery and is pocket-friendly (i.e. with a cone so no leakage, and not fragile plastic that will break.) My sweet spot has been dripping on a standard 900mah ego with a joyetech LR atty.

I know you said you didn't want VV, but I would still suggest trying an Ego twist, you might be surprised. They are Ego size with a bit more length and a dial for ~$10-15 more. If nothing else you can keep it at ~3.2-3.7 - what a standard Ego delivers.

If you're dripping, then the new Ego T/C tanks probably aren't for you, virtually no one likes them, unless they've gone straight from an atomizer/cartridge combination.

And for Ego compatible, simple devices, I'd say try the stardust v3, vivi nova or Kanger T2/CC. All of them hold about 1-3 ml of liquid and are so handy for going out for the day.

How do you go out and drip all day ? That would drive me insane. :)

Thanks for all of the input everyone. Pretty much everyone is sold out of the Joye LR 510 atties that I want, which is why I was thinking of trying something new. What is the feedback like on the eGo-c atty? From what I understand it is a rebuildable atomizer, but how does that affect lifespan and performance? I do own a VV ego, it is the one with the LCD screen and it is much larger than my standard 900 mah ego but I find it doesn't last as long or vape as well and it just sits in the bottom of my drawer. I would love to buy what I have but I don't think they even make it anymore!! Would the eGo T or the eGo C model be the standard joye ego battery? Would it have the same voltage as what I am using now? (omg it has been so long that I don't even know what voltage I am vaping at!!)

The Ego-t is a tank - the atomizer has a spike that goes into a little bottle of liquid. The Ego-C is basically the same, but the atomizer is "changeable", not rebuildable. You basically change the spike atomizer bit, instead of the whole atomizer cone, so the Ego-C atomizer is a bit cheaper than the Ego-T, because you're just replacing one inside bit and not the whole cone. They are essentially the same system and most people find they don't perform well. I loved the idea of having tanks of liquids, but it just doesn't work well enough.

No Joyetech Ego has an LCD screen. The battery indicator is the fire button on the Ego-C, it changes from white ~100-50%, light blue ~50% and dark blue for ~10%. The twist does not have this function, but is way better than any VV egos I've seen in the past, it has a dial on the end, to adjust the voltage and is true variable voltage. I would guess the LCD ego you have is probably multi-voltage .. whereas it only does a few pre-set voltages.

Every Ego, should be about 3.7V and I believe about 3.2 V under load, except for the twist of course which goes from 3.2 to 4.8.

Many people stopped carrying the Joyetech atomizers because of the price I believe. I think many other brands perform just as well at a lower cost.

Here is an explanation/review of a bridgeless atomizer that someone mentioned; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTspGqgMA8o

Edit: Apparently I have no life and went through a handful of videos to find one that explained both the Ego-T/C difference and Ego-C battery indicator.

thanks for all the info chagrin. I guess the VV that I have isn't Joye, it has 3 preset voltages and you change it by clicking the button 3 times. It has a LCD screen as well as a ring that goes all the way around and glows at different colors at different voltages. I believe it is 3.2, 3.7 and 4.2 but even then 4.2 doesn't taste as good as my standard ego batteries and it only has about 75% of the life despite being significantly longer.

I know about the eGo-T atties, I tried one awhile back and didn't like it. I guess the ego-c is also a tank model, so that is a no-go as well. I guess I am just interested in the batteries that come with each and what is the difference.

I didn't realize that the JoYe atties were going out of style. I have tried a few others, the bauway, ikenvape, etc, but I liked the Joye ones best. if anyone knows where I can stock up before they are all gone, please shoot me a pm. If not I think I will try some of canvape's.

You're welcome ... I went back and edited the post, because I had some information wrong.

That ego you have is definitely not a Joyetech, they never made a variable voltage before the twist as far as I know. I'm familiar with the model you're talking about, but never tried it. A lot of people call that multi-voltage as opposed to variable voltage, because you can't adjust it as much. With the Ego twist you turn the dial to whatever voltage you want. I'd suggest them to everyone to try, because 0.1 or 0.2 V can make quite a bit of difference. With my 900 mah twist @ 4.2-4.4 volts I nearly get a days use chain vaping. It usually dies at home an hour or so before I'm ready to sleep, I wish I had gotten the 1000. :)

With a LR atomizer, 4.2V would probably too high. Above 3.8-4 V you'd want a SR atomizer.

You can see the dial on Joyetech's page here; Joyetech eGo-C twist battery Promotion

Edit: The only place I can recall seeing Joyetech atomizers; http://www.jrcustomturning.com/product-p/joyelr.htm .. and http://vaporgeek.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=86_134&product_id=105 - maybe I was wrong about them losing popularity. :)

A blast from the past, welcome back lelly!

You can still pick up Joye 510s at a few different places, as chagrin mentioned JrCustomsTurnings stocks them, as does VaporGeek and HappyVaper.

As an avid dripper myself, and a former Joye LR510 devout, I would highly recommend the Cisco 510 atomizers (avidvaper.com) - a bit pricier, $8.99, but they are phenomenal and the service is fantastic (order ships within 24 hours).

I would also add that I've since moved away from LR atomizers and have been using SR atomizers on the Twist at a higher voltage. Same wattage, so the vape is essentially the same, but the battery life and the atomizer life are both significantly improved.

Hey Lelly. I am in much the same boat. just using ego upgrade batteries myself now. can set a fixed voltage and it's a pt.

played with boge dct tank and stardusts. these stardusts last forever. i get a month plus out of each one. rinse after a month and use for a couple more weeks. no hunting. I make double chocolate for my main vape, PA (the clear stuff is not sweet at all) and either flue cured or 555 as an alternate flavour.

don't start chasing the nirvana again ;)

I live about 4 miles from vaporgeek
