We loved in outer suburbia, there was nothing to do but cruise around and go to barn parties.....so many days have passed, Dazed and Confused is one of the most accurate movies made about that era.........
Your "outer suburbia" is my "big city." And Dazed and Confused is about the cool kids living in the suburban part of a metropolitan area. It's always amused me that the tv/movie version of "outcasts" always have an army of friends.
When the only restaurant for 50 miles advertises "Open Late" because they don't close until 9:00 and the one television station that offers anything close to reliable reception takes the color bars off the air at 11:00, then you can tell me there's nothing to do

Yes, well, I honestly don't remember Helen Reddy's version--but I'd much rather watch her on Carol Burnett than almost anyone on Hee Haw. Nothing against Hee Haw but Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman and Tim Conway were all freakin' geniuses individually--together they were like the Los Alamos National Laboratory of comedy...

Yes, I have denoted a bit of friction between a few of the commiserators, I hate it when friends fight, now a couple have vamoosed......some people suck it up, some flee, its human nature........

Topic for the day -- am I a misogynist in any way? Do I objectify women? I make jokes about stuff but y'all know I'm not serious, right? A woman at Nu-Vapor hates me now, there was a semi-tasteless video that I poked fun with and she thought me serious, I feel badly that I somehow made an enemy.....
