I've made a post about this topic in New Members section however it didn't raise too much attention, so I will try to dig deep on this Ego-C 510 vs Standard M401 PCC comparison that I've been experiencing throughout this week.

First off, I'd like give a little background story. I've quit analogs around 30 days ago and I've been vaping for 3 weeks. My approach to e-cigs are totally biased on the 'flavor' side as I used to smoke analogs (rolling tobacco, cigars) strictly based on their flavors as well.

So, here I go.

First E-Cigarette kit I bought was a Standart M401 E-cig with 2 batteries, a PCC charger, cartomizers and a Dekang Tobacco (12 mg. nic) for the purpose of refilling the cartomizers.

Once I started vaping this combination, I totally got addicted to the flavor of this Dekang e-juice. It's like a mild Virginia tobacco with an extra caramel twist on it. Personally, I've found the flavor result amazing. However, the more I vaped, I understood that the system of this 2 batteries and a PCC charger wasn't fast/durable enough for my vaping frequency. The battery on the e-cig finishes around 30 mins. of chain vaping and the PCC can charge it in around one and half hour. I can easily say that the charging loop of this product killed the experience for me.

On the vapor side, the amount of vapor it produces is definitely not too much and the throat is not too hard. Which I didn't complain.

So, my research led me to purchase a standart Joyetech Ego-C kit with two 1000 Mah batteries. First I started to vape the pre-filled tanks that came with it, then I started to refill them with my favorite juice and the result was quite controversial for me.

The battery life was amazing, even though I chain vaped all day, one battery was enough for the whole day. And the amount of vapor this device produces is stunning. This two facts made me think that I'm now stepping in to a new world in vaping! However.. On the flavor side, there was a huge turn off for me. I felt that, I'm like a fog machine without any taste at all. The fact that the taste was almost totally muted freaked me out. For a while I thought I was having some kinda vapers-tongue, so I tried switching to a new juice with green apple flavor but the result was same: no taste. So I went back to my m401 with the same liquid and all the taste I was missing was there. And lastly, tried my new green apple juice with M401 for the first time and loved it.

In conclusion, I'm now back to my hopeless recharging loop with the M401 just for the sake of the flavor. Now I'm looking in to different atomizers which can be used in 510 to improve the taste and also I'm looking in to the options of switching M401's battery to a good long one. I'll update this once I experience new setups in this comparison.

P.S: All kinds of advices appreciated!

I appreciate your review lenze. Well done. I agree that the M401 does bring out the great flavor of your favorite juices. I've got several M401 anf M402 batteries, atomizers and cartridges. But I've never used a Joyetech Ego-C before so I can't compare or give you any alternatives to try but I can tell you that I started with an 801 automatic kit. I also have a few 801 set ups in my collection. That set up is similar to the M401 but the batteries are bigger and will last a lot longer. I don't remember ever seeing a PCC for an 801 though so that would mean you would have to have 2-4 charged batteries to go out for the entire day and evening (depending on how much you vape and how long you are away from a charging source).
With a 2+pack a day habit I had to keep SEVERAL batteries charged with me at all times. I am a chain vaper just as I was a chain smoker. So I realized I had to move on to a more convenient, longer lasting batteries. Now I have a few big battery mods that I use everyday but I still adore the small cig alike set ups at times when I am somewhere where that I know I won't have issues with charging, filling etc. I am going to try an Joye e-roll kit next. They are only 90 mAh batteries but the kit comes with a PCC and the batteries only take 30 to 45 minutes to charge. So for myself I would probably need two kits to keep up with my habit. Still I think they would be great for going out and about with. The 801 that I mentioned earlier is a great alternative for longer battery life and great flavor.
I would also suggest you to to the Library forum and read some of what's there. You can learn a lot about the type of e-cig that fits your particular needs. There is a guide to vaping there that will help you sort out some alternatives.
Good luck with your research. I'm glad you have a set up that you like very much for the most part so that will keep you off the stinkies in the meantime. And WELCOME to ECF!

Do you know anyone who vapes and has a variable voltage mod or cartomizers? I ran into the same problem with low taste with ego specific atomizers but when I got a higher voltage mod they tasted a bit better, then when I switched over to cartomizers it was another huge shift in flavor. Might be worth a try getting a 5 pack of smoktek dccs to see if you enjoy the flavor before completely throwing away your ego battery.
