I'm really considering ordering a 1000mAh eGo variable voltage battery and I'm wondering what will work well with it. The setup I want to use is the low resistance SmokTech XL cartomizers and the eGo rapid USB charger. The thing is, the charger I want to get has an output of 5V and 420mA and the battery is 1000mAh, so I'm wondering if that is the right charger for the battery. I just want to make sure I get the right stuff for this battery and please don't hesitate to give me any helpful advice regarding how to use it properly.

Thank you!

Note: the websites I'm looking at are mtbakervapor.com and myvaporstore.com

First, you can get good prices at altsmoke. They have a 10% off coupon FIRSTORDER. All you have to do is create an account. They have awesome customer service and fast shipping.

Now, on to your questions. You don't want to use low resistance on the twist. LR is made for fixed voltage devices like the ego or kgo. The beauty of the twist is you can use standard resistance of 2.8-3.0 and still get the vapor and heat of a low resistance coil and conserve battery life, LR is hard on batteries.

Rather than cartos, check out the 3.0ml bottom coil Phoenix, the T2 2.4ml clearo with replaceable heads and the xl bottom coil ce3 ($10 at altsmoke). They will all give you better vapor and flavor than a carto and last much longer

That is just not so, its been debated for a long time, LR Can and is used on the twist and is used on the twist all the time by many a people. I run LR stuff on my Twist all the time and it handles it with ease. Just like any Batt you just dont want to chain vape it so it heats up at the connection, its best to have 2 Twist or 2 of any Ego/Kgo/Riva always set up and going, I think 4 is even better and rotate using them. Yes it does use up your Batt more, so rotating between two of them is best. Many people enjoy the flavor of a LR Coil over a SR or HV Coil, me included, there is a clear difference in the flavor that shines through using an LR coil over SR & especially HV. There all ONLY batteries and are going to where out after a while, on the flip side I still have some of my original Ego/Riva Batts from back in 09 that are still going strong,,, I think I have burned out maybe 2 using LR Atty's in almost 3 yrs now, and that's because the resistance dropped to like 1-1.2ohms after using that Atty for a long time, so it was my fault, big deal it has costed me maybe $30 in almost 3 yrs using LR,,,, I'm sticking with using the LR too because of the flavor I get from the lower resistance coil its super.

Right now I have 2 of the newer Phoenix Re-Buildable Atty's on my Ego Twist and I'm running 1.5ohm coil on them, flavor is super and vapor is huge, All these newer RBA Attys work very well on the twist, you can make any ohm coil you want with them, could be a nice choice for you to check into " xNaTe21x " there only about $15 @ NHaler Drew should have more soon, and some other vendors have them to if you look around, the Stardust Cartos also work very well and all the newer CE5 & CE6 Type Cartos run very well on them if you dont want to use a filler type carto and get better flavor with the filler-less type of Carto's

I didn't say you can't, I said you don't need to. Low resistance coils will kill your battery faster than a standard resistance. A person who vapes a 1.7ohm carto at 3.7v will push 8 watts. You can use a 2.4ohm carto at 4.4v to accomplish the same thing and draw less amps.

That is why variable voltage mod companies even say not to use low resistance coils on them

Now you can use it, but there is no need and you will have to charge your battery more often

I disagree that its the same thing,,,,, I get much better flavor on a lower resistance coil then I do with a say 2.4ohm coil, bar none the flavor is much more intense for me, and many others, its not really the same, the Watts may end up being the same but the hotter coil makes a difference.

The thing is with the battery life, is that it is a 1000mAh battery and it should last a long time on a single charge regardless of what I use on it. My current setup is a starter kit with 2 manual 280 mAh batteries that come with dual coil LR cartos (crazy, huh?), so my plan is to stick with the LR dual coils and I should have no trouble with the 1000mAh battery. I also don't care for tanks and other mods at the moment either because I want to keep it as simple as possible for the time being.

Dual coils drain my batteries faster than LR any day of the week. My LR really do not seem to drain my battreries any faster than stadard resist, I still get the same hours out of them with both resistances.

Yes, I agree. Dual coils are really hard on batteries. They don't even give as good flavor, just more vapor, IMHO
