Okay,i need a little help.I cannot control my smoking habit,it is burning a hole in my pocket and my lungs. For a person in relatively good shape,i cannot even run for 10 minutes!I find it difficult to breathe, and i also get chest pains and over the past 6 months been noticing lots of mucus/phlegm/loogies(ugh i know). When i wake up in the morning and spit in the toilet,my loogie is brown(I apologize if its too much information, just trying to help you get a good picture of my desperation).

I smoke Newport 100's,because i like menthol and they are the strongest menthol on the market. But they are not strong enough for me,i cut off half the filter and still smoke 1 pack a day.

It's really beginning to take a toll on my health.I've been watching e-cig product reviews on youtube, and from what little i have learned i think i want one that you can refill with nicotine drops.

But i have no idea where to start. If anybody can point me to a relatively cheap e-cig,with cheap, high nicotine level drops, preferably 70 or less, then i would be eternally greatful.

Ill be on all night, please let me know something. Also, i need something strong, something with a little oomph

Here's my favorite shopping list:

Riva 510 $34 : Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510
eGo-T atomizer $14 : Electronic Cigarette - Atomizers & Cones - Joye eGo - T
eGo-T tanks $6 : Electronic Cigarette - Cartridges - Joye eGo - T
and asst juices :
menthol blend (PG) 30ml @24mg $14 E Liquid - E Liquid 5ML - PG - Tobaccos
4 other flavors of your choosing (PG) 5ml bottles ($3 each) $12 E Liquid - E Liquid 5ML - PG - Others

Total cost:$70 ...and I'm pretty sure shipping is $2.99

All the parts are interchangeable so with this set up you can try dripping, cartridges, or the new "tank system" that everybody is raving about.

The Riva 510 batteries will last a good 6 hours between charges, the kit comes with 2 batteries, two atomizers, 5 pre-filled cartridges. I've added the eGo-T atomizer and tanks upgrade so you can do that too. Here's a video about the new tank system:

YouTube - eGo-T Tank System Review

Good Luck! and Welcome to the forum.

ps: fyi, the Riva 510 is a knock off of the eGo, it's just as good - just less expensive by $10.

Other Places
I buy most of my liquids from FSUSA. Click here. Everyone says that their purecig with menthol is really good. I love the plain purecig and I used to be a menthol smoker. Start with at least 24mg strength no matter what vendor you buy from. They also have a sample size in a ton of flavors or you can buy 5ml bottles. They are always running weekend sales (or most of the time they do). Shipping is a flat $5 priority. Here is the link to their forum pages to watch for sales. If you can't wait, freedomsmokeusa is the coupon code for 10 percent off (it is also located on their first page).

Mister-E-Liquid is another good vendor. Free shipping for orders over $50 (might be a little lower buy not sure). Click Here. Everything that I've tried has been fantastic.

TastyVapor and VaporBomb are 2 more fantastic vendors.

**Please remember that taste is subjective. What I may like, you may hate. When I quit smoking, I refused to vape tobacco flavors. I was too scared that it would jumpstart me again. It's been long enough for me now that I love tobacco flavors but still dislike menthol flavors. Most menthol flavors taste like Vick's Vapor Rub to me. The only one I'm going to try in menthol is purecig due to reviews that I've read. I'm hoping that it will be good as most of FSUSA's juices are.

I would suggest a 510 Riva. Click Here. I started with one of these. Very nice ecig. If you click on the tab "discounts", you get 20 percent off so it comes out to be about $30 and shipping is $2.99 no matter how big your order is.

If not looking like a cigarette doesn't bother you and cost isn't an issue, check out notcigs for the Infinity. Click Here for the kit. It's variable voltage. Very nice mod. You can "dial in" your juice to suit your tastebuds. Very easy to use. If you go this route, get a set of spare batteries. I have 1 of these with another on the way and I completely love it. There is a waiting period for this but Mike gets them out pretty quickly.

No matter what you buy, get several spare atomizers as these will eventually quit on you.

Sweet,i'll check out all of that stuff. You have to buy everything on that list?Or just the starter kit?

You can just buy the Riva 510 and the juice if you want, that's all you need to get started.

I recommend the tank system and I'm fairly confident that you'll wish you'd added it to your shopping cart within the first couple of weeks.

Think of it this way: how much are cigarettes cost you every week? $35?

For two weeks worth of cigarette money you can be done with them forever. The Riva kit will last you for at least six months (I'm betting - things do need to be replaced eventually, but I think it'll last at least that long) and you'll probably go through about 3-5ml of juice per week. So, you could be vaping for about $15 a week (less if you start making your own juice).

I know it's hard to put down money when you feel in your heart that nothing you try is really going to work -- why flush your money down the drain and then not eat because you need the money to buy cigarettes... I have totally been there. These things really work... YES there's a learning curve. YES, you might hit a few bumps in the road especially in the beginning. But the majority of vapers have been in exactly your shoes. The majority used to smoke about a pack a day for about 25 years. The majority are vaping 3ml per day now instead and using 24mg nicotine e-liquid. And the majority quit smoking the same day they got their e-cig.

Quite a few quit within the first week, some quit within the first month, but there are very very few people who can't quit using e-cigs IF they put in the effort to find the right juice/right starter kit/right mg nicotine juice.

i can understand. I am (or was) smoking a pack and a half a day. I also like captain black cigars and I inhaled them. this is my 4th day and I've been 2 without cigs. using the tank setup. I use a lot more juice than mentioned above. I'm going through 2 tanks a day, almost 3 yesterday but first day without smokes.... I've also been playing around with different flavours and while the fruit stuff tastes good, there is no throat hit to me. The only thing that has done it for me is this licorice. it's strong as hell. and it gives that burny feeling. blueberry is tasty, double chocolate tasted like a kitchen smells when baking a cake, when I switched to black cherry it was like black forest the first few puffs (I'll remember that one) and tasted good but all were smooth.

if you like menthol buy whatever and extra menthol flavouring. I find I like tweaking the flavours. and a big battery. the 650 lasts me most of the day and glad I have a second one. if I had a little one like the 510 it would drive me nuts charging all the time

btw: this is a kick-.... menthol that I like to use when I want to feel like my e-cig is actually filled with fiberglass and my throat is literally being shredded: Decadent Vapours 10ml Flavour Concentrates

It's just called "menthol" -- it's just flavoring so you can't vape it as it is, you can add a few drops (really, it's strong) to any juice you have to "liven" it up.
No holds barred - our flavour concentrate is the strongest menthol liquid on the market. 50%w/v menthol crystals dissolved in a PG base. Use very sparingly!

The pros here have spoken, they really know their stuff. As a newb, I've gained a world of info in just the past 2 weeks.

I quit without meaning too. ...and I read that from about every other new member post I come across. I've read a lot of posts here too where people are wanting to give up analogues so they come to the e cig, but for me honestly it was going to just be for 'at work'. So far I've given them up, and once again, I've heard it over and over here.

Don't worry about the juice not tasting like tobacco smoke, it won't, but you won't care. The juice (and this forum) is a brand new replacement addiction.

Personally I can't say enough about how understanding and helpful the people have been here. I never would have believed how much I loath real (analog) cigarettes. And that was a mere 3 days ago. Almost 4.

Look at it this way; when all is said and done? You will spend less on an entire kit with many extra's that you would would on a carton of cigarettes.

Your not out anything by giving it a chance.

I'm definitely stoked to quit real cigs now.As one of the other posters mentioned,i really want that "throat hit" that you get from taking a nice long drag on a strong cigarette. That's what i need!Ive had one cigarette today, due to the fact that I'm completely broke, and i just found half a newport behind my monitor.I smoked it and got that "high" you get when not having smoked a cigarette in a while.

Will an e-cig give me this effect?

I should have some money tomorrow or the next day,and i will see if i can order the Riva 510 for 34$,the tank system for 6$,and the 30ml of menthol juice.I will then post a video of my reaction to it,after figuring out how to get that futuristic looking contraption working.

The $6 Rosa listed is for the cartridge. If you want to go that route, you'll need the atomizer she listed as well, so you'd be looking at $20 for upgrading to the tank system.

Ah,so I'll need the ego-t tank and the ego-t atomizer to upgrade to the tank system?I thought the riva 510 came with its own atomizer

The riva kit does come with its own atomizer. The tank cartridges won't work on a normal atomizer.

You might be blown away and never want to look beyond the standard cartridge system. The tank system reduces or eliminates problems SOME people have with tat standard system.
