Seriously, iv owned a reo many years and i dont know:

Usually when battery goes i still have juice in the bottle so I'm afraid to lift up the juice too high as that "nipple thing a ma jig may snap off), if i was gonna reach underneath and push down on the spring and pull out. I usually and (dont cringe rob) would stick my reo door into the the tiny slot above battery and kinda push down and out. Thats been my way.

However, i think i ruined my flat top battery doing it that way (yes i know not suppose to use flat tops) as the battery is peeling now :( --- i just cant get my finger or fingernail into that slot above the battery to push straight down on the spring.

Ummm so what do you guys do ? im being serious at the risk of sounding like an idiot- cause i love my pieces and want them to last :)

And on yeah since there might be a few reo people who scan this post does anyone know the amp limit of the reo vv - i know its 15 watts for power but wanted to know amp limit.

Some reonaut has to be able to answer both :)

Pretty please

I have done the fuse mod waiting for the contact upgrade and have been gently removing the base of the bottle to allow me access to the bottom of the battery and at that point I will just gently pry out the base of the battery. When I was still using the spring I would treat my REO like a remote control, saying that I would just remove the door and in one quick motion face the REO's internals toward the open palm of my opposing hand and the battery would pop out quite easily.

I don't know if these are the correct ways but worked for me.

for removal of the battery:

Remove door.
Cup hand not holding Reo.
With opening facing cupped hand hit reo into hand.
If the battery doesn't completely pop into my hand it has moved enough to get a finger on top.

I put electrical tape around the battery to make a "Tab" to pull. It works great and keeps the door more secure. I just took this pic so it is easier to see.
