Hey everyone, it has been a while since I have been here. I quit smoking for 2 months just to get started back full force again. I have decided to start vaping again and see if this time I can finally kick smoking for good.

I have been using e-JuiceMeUp for a calculator for my recipes. TBH, it is really a headache to look at so I thought I would make a new application that looked a bit simpler on the eyes. Don't get me wrong, there is really nothing wrong with it except for that.

So far I have been able to save recipes, and now I am moving on to working out the math. The problem I am having is with the ratios of pg/vg. If everything was just one or the other that would be simple:

(desiredNicStrength * recipeQuantity) / baseNicAmount = nicSolution

With that I am using other calculations to get the percentage and number of drops, just for the nic base to put in the bottle. I have found several posts scattered across the internet discussing how to calculate a recipe, but nothing as far as the ratios of pg/vg in them with flavorings. Instead of having a bunch of textboxes I am using comboboxes with a specific number of entries for easier calculations (i.e setting values to what I can get from WizardLabs, or normal 10ml or 30ml recipe batches that I make)

I'm hoping someone here has more experience with paper math recipes that can be carried over to an application that I would be able to use.

If you've not seen it... you might want to take a look at the Steam Engine e-liquid program. It breaks down the PG/VG base and nicotine content in percentage or mg/ml, and displays the individual values, including flavoring percentages, individual mixing values and combined target values.

How I like to do it is break it down. If you have a 50/50 nic base and you have lets say 10ml of 100mg, you have the same as 5ml pg in 100mg and 5ml vg in 100ml. it will take time, but I find math a fun challenge, and generally work things out on paper.
As for the percentages in a juice, they are up to you. I'll show you a 12mg 80vg/20pg recipe starting with that 50/50 juice:
1.2mL 50/50 100mg nic
1mL PG flavoring (most are)
0.4mL PG
7.4mL VG

If you add more than 10% flavoring, decrease the same amount over 1mL flavoring to match the PG, so 1.4mL flavoring would leave you with 0mL PG, etc.
Hope this helps, good luck!
