ROTFLMAO...I really need the laughs tonight...this is one of those "awful news" weeks. Had a call from a cousin in Indiana to let us know that one of the older relatives won't make it through the next day or so. Of course, it really is a blessing...the poor thing has Alzheimer's and has been in a nursing home for 7 years.

That message was confusing..What is a thinkpad..why does she need to look up drivers and why is there a problem...will she be back in minutes or days?

Just in case your serious a ThinkPad is a laptop made by IBM it is a brand name.

When you format you have to reinstall drivers on your computer drivers are what make the video, sound things like that work.

RKayne should be able to get the drivers from the IBM website and it might take as long as a few hours but since he said he was busy it will probably take a little longer then that. When you install drivers it is alot of find the right driver, install the driver, restart the computer and repeat until finished.

RKayne is a lady Cranky. Her wife is also a Lady..Now if I could figure out how to be a lady..it would be all good!:p

Oh, and I was serious! I am am computer idiot! When they gave me back my computer they said I needed to turn my drivers on...no clue!

Soduko, I am sorry about your relative. But soon he will be at peace. I can only imagine what life is like for those who can no longer reach us or even themselves.

Sorry to hear that, Soduko...

Thanks Mary Kay, lol. I know it can be confusing when I say 'my wife' but we are legal here in Washington state (we even get cards, lol).

My drivers are the problem, I should have snagged them when I grabbed the rest of the stuff I put on tthe external drive but NOOOOO. Dumazz here.

Anyways, the one I need is the one to connect either WIFI or CAT5 cable and I have neither and we have so much going on I am not going to even think about touching it until tomorrow night as I do not need anything that is going to make me want to toss it across the room until then :D

Sure..cards..But what about a toaster!?! (See the old Ellen show).

They told me I need to go to my Drive and turn on my In-Line to make my speakers sound less tinny. Found the stupid drive and there is NO in line! Can't add external speakers (one hole in the back of the monitor) I tried. Forget it..I will haul it back in and make them do it!

You will probably need to look at the back of the tower itself in order to add speakers that will be where it plugs in. Check the back of the computer. If you have some headphone looking ports in a rectangular shaped metal cutout back there (and there are more than one) put the speakers in the green port. If there is already something plugged into that port it is probably your monitor and you can unplug it and plug in the external speakers.

There is a small computer repair place almost next to where my wife works, they shouldn't charge me too much to put my drivers on. I am going to stop and ask tonight since I really do not feel like messing with it! The Dell I am on right now (her old laptop, I got her an Acer One...highly recommend!) was being super slow and still is showing signs of an invasion. The Hell the is AOL, somehow it snuck on here and I have been doing all I can to eradicate it. Good thing is I did create a boot CD for this comp so when I go to resell it I can reformat, load that CD and sell it :D You can bet I will be creating one for my Thinkpad, they will always be my fav laptop. Perfect keyboard, great audio/visual, fast, sleek, tough (they have a rollcage made of titanium and the harddisk will stop if it gets moved too fast so if you drop it it will be ok) and the best thing? Unlike this Dell which I could cook an egg on after a couple hours, you can leave a Thinkpad on for DAYS and it gets barely warm!!
