Cone Leakage...how to fix

Most of my eGo cones hold leaked liquid quite well, however, I do have one where the liquid seeps out and it's annoying to press the button and notice that my fingers are greasy from leaked juice. here is how I remedied that problem....

I took a piece of ptfe plumbers tape, folded it in half length-wise (same length/halved the width), and wrapped it around the cone threads on the battery. The cone is still easy to get on/off but the thread tape adds a better seal to keeps leaks at bay. The amount of tape you use really depends on the leak, so experiment.

Thats a good tip but are you flooindg your atties that much? I drip, a lot, and never get leaks

Better tip! Don't drip so much. Not only will it save on juice, it is not as messy.

no, I am not dripping too much. I use bridgeless attys. If you read the post you'll notice that I only have one cone that leaks. if I were dripping too much, they all would leak. this particular cone fits loosely.

Juice is suppose to stay within the atomiser and be vaped away, from my understanding anyway. If it is outside the atty e.g between the atty connector and the cone, please enlighten us how you achieve this phenomenon only dripping the right amount. I am seriously confused here and would very much like to share in your extended wisdom.

you can continue to be confused. I put the tip out for anyone experiencing leaks, not to be questioned about my dripping habits by someone who presumes they know how much I'm dripping and why my cone was leaking. I alone know how much I'm dripping and since I've been dripping for over a year I think I'd know if it was too much....I don't need you to tell me. Now, as for this particular conversation, I am squashing it. If you want to be a troll and continue it go right ahead, but you will continue it without me.

This thread is meant to give a helping hand to anyone who has a leaking cone.......for whatever reasons. Not to be told what they are doing wrong.

If you drip onto a de-bridge... and it is one which coil is slightly away from the whole a part of liquid shall find its way down within 30 seconds. Thats why it leaks. You can try moving the coil gently as to fully cover the hole and tighten it, though it could result in killing your atty. As for sealing up the cone screw, I have succesfully done it with teflon tape. That is the way to go there...

Awesome idea. I use de-bridged atty's myself and hate that they leak if you use too much juice. Thank you SB.

I find that debridged attys leak regardless. I use about 2-3 drops and they leak a little each time and the extra accumulates in the cone. If the cone is loose fitting or the threads aren't tight the cone will seep juice too.
Im trying out cartos now and actually liking them better than neutered attys.....they don't leak. But they are a pain in the to fill...at least the joye 510 cartos are anyway.

Yeah, I think I'd rather put up with some leaking then ruin a perfectly good $8 atty. It's easier just to tape up the threads

BTW, how come some of you drip a debridged atty with more than one drop? Mmmmm... I guess one is what any atty, regardless the brand, if 510, is to hold without the bridge. The only way to drip two drops is if they are tiny and you drip them on the atty's wall and are very careful as to vape horizontaly. Is that it?

Thanks for the tip, SB. I've experienced a cone that is too tight... and I have to noalox it even so it glides better. I also have one other that is too loose, like yours. I also have 2 others that fit just right.

I personally appreciate sbphotog's tip and I'm sure others out there do too. A lot of juices are more runny in nature and may not stay in the atty as well, particularly with a bridgeless atty.

I find that with my BwB juices, i never get leaks since they have a thicker consistency but with my Johnson Creek Red Oak line they run right through the atty and fall out the bottom. I really like revolver's tip about moving the coil, too. That's good thinking and I've learned that attys aren't quiet as fragile and most people on the forums make them out to be. I may give that a shot with my bridgeless atty.
