I have been vaping successfully for some time now. Today, I woke up, had my Cappucino vape with my morning coffee and the urge hit. All I could think about was having an analog. I went to church with my family and all I could think about was a real ciggy. I broke down and went and bought a pack and I have smoked several this afternoon.

I know I am not failure, but wow, I feel like a failure. This was my first real meltdown for a real ciggy. Is this normal? The urge was overwhelming. And as you see, I gave in.

Quite normal, don't worry about it - it wasn't a pack was it? It was a few and tomorrow your mouth will taste foul lol. You might want to think about why you caved in - your ejuice might not have enough nic to kill your cravings or you might be one of the many people who crave MAOI in tobacco (and really feel a mess without it) Check out the smokeless tobacco forums for more info about that.
Oh and /hug - please don't beat yourself up over it.

First, stop and think of how many regular cigarettes you have not smoked. Then try to remember that you are doing this on your own terms. A smoke now in then is better than a pack or two per day. If you are using vaping to quit smoking, you set the rules. The only way you can fail it to set unfair expectation for yourself.

Don't be discouraged, put the rest of the pack on top of the fridge or wherever and start vaping again.

I smoked two cigarettes at the bar on Tuesday night. I also had a clove cigarette back in May when I went camping. I'm not terribly concerned about it though. Cigarettes were offered to me, and I figured, what the heck? I actually enjoy how weird the feeling of it is now - it's too light in my hand, and it's familiar yet foreign. I know that in the end I'm going to pick up my vape because I like it better.

thanks guys. I am using 24mg nic, it seems to work, today was just a surprise. I am off to get a passthrough thingy.
I did put the pack of analogs way out in my workshop , so if I want one, I have to go for a walk, lol.

I keep the "just in case" pack in the chair right next to me.

If I put them far away.......like "you shouldn't be able to easily get at those" then I would want them more.

Because they're right there.....it's my choice to have one or not to. Somehow (for me) that makes it easy not to want one.

As it is, they have been untouched for a month and are probably beyond stale.:)

Hi Christie , I know that urge you speak of all too well. My suggestion would be to get the ciggy's from the back of your shop and toss em. Next time the powerful urge hits just start crying ...and crying....and crying....before you know it you will wonder what in the heck am I crying about lol. Then take a nice big vape of your favorite liquid and mind cure yourself.

Don't beat yourself up, Christie. Remind yourself of all the cigarettes you did not smoke. Quitting those nasty tasting cigarettes completely will come in time. Some people are able to immediately quit the analogs once they start vaping, and other people tend to take more time to finally snuff out that last analog. Everyone is different. What might work for one person, may not work for another. Be patient with yourself and with your attempts at quitting. Take the suggestions of using a higher nicotine level to vape for those times when the urge seems to overtake you. I have confidence that you will quit the analogs when you are ready.
