I will also say, my wife said the same. She actually had me ask our juice lady if there was something in the juice that was to make coffin nails taste so bad. She couldn't believe if they tasted that bad why we would ever start smoking them things. But in the end they actually did taste that bad, but it was the cool thing to do... right?

Went to breakfast with my wife and another couple who were all smokers. After breakfast, they wanted to smoke outside. I was standing there in the cold while they smokes. I wanted one but then I was like, why the heck am I standing in the cold? I don't need to. I said, I don't need to be out here and will meet you in the warm car. I sat in the heat and vaped away. When they got into the car, the smell was so disgusting that the craving went away. Big pat on the back for this guy. Keep it up and distract yourself and look at the benefits. Heat was my benefit today.

Nope.

I enjoyed my first cigarette, and the last one I had (that's precisely the problem :) ).

Cool never had anything to do with it (consciously).

Exactly! I loved every drag. Now, I'm loving (almost) every vape. Almost, because there were a couple juices that I've tried and were blech. But give me some strawberry shortcake, or peaches 'n cream or key lime pie juice and I'm in my happy place :toast:

I know for a fact it was purely psychological, as smoking was my go to for comfort in very stressful situations. I still have 2 stale cigs in the last pack I had. I went and locked them in hubs gun safe, then gave him my key for it.

I was wanting one so bad I was shaking, pacing, chain vaping and every hit the switch timed out. I went through over 30 ml of juice in 3 days. 3-4 ml is my usual.

Between family, friends, support on my post at the time, and hours spent reading on ECF, I made it.

I wouldn't say I loved every drag... I know I've lit cigarettes and immediately felt sickened by them. Thought "God, I really don't want that." Usually smoked them anyway :)

Maybe the ones who liked it stopped posting..?

Personally, my position is that it's counterproductive to beat myself up when I smoke - because I probably will again, that's just what I'm like.

But if I give myself a reason to keep smoking, however occasionally, it tends to snowball. People are different, but the whole "You could just have one, it's your birthday" thing is famously disastrous for many.

I totally agree with this... if someone is a recovering alcoholic, no one in they're right mind, would say oh just have a drink and you'll see how nasty that stuff is. Smoking is not for most, a recreational way to pass the time. It IS however THE most addicting thing known to man. Stop co-signing weakness as a strength. If people would stop smoking and tough it out NO MATTER WHAT, they would see that, they live in a very fortunate time in history to be able to have the option of vaping.

And, they would see that vaping in place of smoking, really isn't very hard. This is only directed to those who keep telling people to smoke and see if you still like it. It could be no different than telling them to go get a loaded gun, and put it to their head and pull the trigger.

You know who you are because you say it every other day to some newb who is struggling. Over and over....

Some of us don't appreciate that horrible advice.

To OP - I would agree with your comments.. I know when I packed analogs in for the first time for about 2-3 months a few years back. I literally felt myself being pulled to the store to buy some more at some points the urge was so strong.. Unfortunately I didn't know about vaping at the time..

Keep going and keep strong. I would personally not recommend trying one now and again to make sure you don't want one.. Why ? It then means you have another 19/9 more in a pack right next to you if you buy a pack.. far too much temptation there...

Don't give in and keep strong. You don't need another cigarette! The best advice I ever got from a gentleman at my regular pub, was to say to all and sundry (including yourself) "I don't smoke" whenever asked, or if you think about having one. Keep telling yourself that and you'll win !
