I had the worst craving after Thanksgiving dinner. Actually is more of a LUSTING for a stinkie. I was about to go buy a pick. Family said hang in there and I did. I had dropped my nic level to 12 mg a week before. I now have a cartotank that I keep one flavor of 18 mg juice in as my craving killer. Only takes a few vapes and the stinkies lusting is gone.

I keep a 10 ml bottle of WTA liquid with me for the moments when the urge for analogs becomes overwhelming. If I hit one of those, I whip out the WTA and vape away. 99% of the time it settles my cravings, then I go back to normal e-liquid.

There are more addictive things in cigarettes than just nicotine, and some of us need that extra. Thankfully for me I just used it at first, and now only when I really need it.

For me the cravings are associated more with particular activities or times of day that I would smoke. get in the truck = reach for a smoke, *ding* it has been X hours since smoking = go take a break and smoke, after lunch = you guessed it, and this list goes on and on.. What helps is instead of reaching for a smoke, I reach for a vape. I can't say that I agree with the go have a smoke and try it out.. see if you still really want them philosophy, but that is just my personal opinion. To my mind it is like telling and alcoholic to go have a sip.. If you want to try something interesting, walk by someone who has just come in from having a smoke. The smell will be apparent.

For me its stress. I seriously picked the wrong time of year to quit, lol but since I did I find that the more stress I feel the more I want an analog cig. Mostly because that is what I did before. Stress for me equals a cig. So I have to make sure my hands are busy. The other night was bad so I vaped hard for awhile and the urge went away. At 18 days analog free I figure any way I can beat the urge is a great day...:)

Whole Tobacco Alkaloids - e-liquid with a more representative spread of the chemicals in tobacco than just nicotine. Some of these other chemicals are psychoactive in their own right (acting as anti-depressants, essentially), others may make nicotine more potent, or alter the way it works.

Some people just don't do very well on nicotine alone, and find WTA works better (seems to be working for me).

Yup, all the classic situations - meals, beers, stress... Sometimes it helps to just be aware of that, like "oh, this is one of those situations where I would feel like having a smoke", and know that it's not because you're weak or whatever. I mean, every ex-smoker should expect to have that feeling sometimes, and you should expect that it can be really annoying. But on the other hand, you can survive an annoying feeling, it's not actually all that bad, compared to say getting a root canal, getting divorced, or whatever other things you've also managed to live through... I think trying to make the urge go away somehow makes it worse. You just have to put up with it. It sucks, but it's worth it!

I am in around 70 something days (see sig below), and have had 2 major cravings that I can remember.

First one was while cooking the T-day turkey. Previous years, I would start the bird, then go outside, read a few chapters of a good book, while, of course, lighting a few up.
Second one was the other day, after having an amazingly good meal while out and about with the family.

Thankfully, I did not have any sticks with me, and was able to just vape through it.

Not so far. I'm about a month in, analog-free, and haven't felt any huge urges. But I've also got 2 cartons sitting on a shelf next to me, so knowing that I could have one if I wanted, is making me okay with not having it.

For me anyway, it's been that knowing or thinking that I *couldn't* have something always made me want it that much more. :)

I gave in to cravings while using a disposable ecig (before I bought my iTaste vv 3.0) because the ecig was just not cutting it for me. However, I realized that even though I *thought* I was missing smoking, I absolutely HATED the smell of my breath, taste of the cig, and the stench left on my clothes! What I was actually craving was the nicotine (which is supposedly out of your system in 3 days), the physical action of hand to mouth (?), and the throat hit of a good menthol! One time when I quit analogs, I was able to quit by using a strong menthol hard candy and 'sucking air' so that it kinda felt like a throat hit...but that only worked the one time. I presently have a few new, extra stressors in my life and was having a really hard time with the disposable ecig until while down south visiting my daughter I saw all of the "Vape Shops" there were and decided to check them out (vaping is just barely getting to Massachusetts). I absolutely LOVE vaping and have not had ANY cravings for an analog since getting my ITaste! I am using a very strong menthol/mint ejuice at 24 mg (I was a 2 pack/day smoker and I plan to order a lower nicotine when I get my next 120 ml. bottle of juice) and no one complains about my "stench" anymore. I admit to being a heavy vaper but I do not feel as bad about it as I felt about ingesting all the extra chemicals in analogs. I have been analog free since mid-June (2013) and couldn't be happier. Okay, okay... I smoked a FEW analogs in August...bought a pack for $9 and change, smoked half of 2-3 and gave away the rest twice but definitely since August! ...and happy and content since October! I know to never say never but I just don't see myself going back now that I have my nicotine (it relaxes me, I swear), my vapor, taste, and throat hit! Good luck to all who still suffer with cravings. :2cool:

Ok, I haven't had a real cig in 1 1/2 months. I have been vaping like crazy, though. Yesterday, I had to dilute some of my 18mg juice because the nicotine was way too strong in my Kayfun.
Today, I walked by my desk and from out of nowhere I got a HUGE craving for a real cigarette. I mean, I could almost smell and taste it. Had I actually had a pace laying around, I may have succumbed to the urges because they were literally THAT strong.
The only thing I could do was start vaping a lot and eventually, the urge went away...but dam! Then I got a slight headache.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Im on day 42 of no analogs. this previous Tuesday, had beers for first time since i quit analogs. OH MAW GAWD! after the first beer, i wanted a cigarette sooo badly. My buddy was just done smoking one - i could have bummed one then, but ... i held it off but was so friggen tempting. busted out the e-cig and actually changed over to a 24mg cartomizer. The urge for analog subsided a little after about 10 puffs of 24mg loaded carto. I did a step down to 18mg but i still got 24mg juice around and i happened to have one of those on me!
I think most of us would go thru something similar walking this road.

To top it off, my smoking buddy ran out of cigs midway thru the evening, and he started puffing on my e-cigs.
Was kinda cool actually, his wife wants him to quit, and this might be a way.

Happy Vaping and Be Healthy!

I will say I have had some situations where I thought of having one stinky. But those situations were mostly just out of habit. Oh no, I screwed up at work, I need a smoke. Oh wait, you don't smoke anymore DanG. Vape the urge away... but I did smoke 2-3 packs a day. I actually had about 15 stinky sticks in my truck for about 2 months after I started vaping. I ended up giving them away a few at a time.
I have heard the craving for a cigarette never goes away. It diminishes, but will be there for decades. Some people I know that quit 20, 30 years ago say they crave one every now and then. But they are not vapers either. We have an awesome tool in our arsenal to win that craving war.
