vaping does have a learning curve and sometimes takes quite a bit of experimenting with juice flavors, pg/vg/nic ratios and delivery devices / toppers to find what works best for each individual.
Heavy or chain vaping and the tiny bits of wicking material in most if not all pre made clearo heads really don't go together well.
Thick & sweet liquids make wicking issues more pronounced by gunking up the coil & wick faster, sweet flavors also burn easier.

Might be your delivery devices / toppers aren't suitable for what you're looking for.
Could be your juice is too thick to wick in your current toppers as fast as you'd like to vape.

You shouldn't have to fiddle with V or W all the time, it should be more of a fine tuning bump here or there, which leads back to finding a delivery device that suits your vaping style.

I prefer carto tanks over any other delivery device because they fit what Im looking for from a vape and my lifestyle best.
But, just like the tons of recommendations you'll receive about various other delivery devices you won't know if they are what works best for you until you try them.

Vaping is all about personal preferences, experimenting with variables to find the combo(s) that work best for you is normal, unfortunately that does take buying stuff until you find what you like.

That last line says it all, really. Vaping absolutely is about personal preferences. I found a lot less hassle, believe it or not, in building my own coils. I know that sounds counter-intuitive to simplicity! Once I got the hang of it, I really liked the maximum control I have over the process. I realized that if I built the coil the same way every time and perfected that, my experience was always consistent. The advice in this thread is good. Don't give up! Everyone has that perfect setup they are looking for and sometimes it takes time to find it.

boooy oh boy do i undestand.

the vv3 is a fine device for what it is.
and not wanting to spend more money i understand that.

i still have my vv3, not my favorite, but it's fine for what you want.

as far as tanks go. the most problem free and plug and go that i've come across are the iclear bdc.
i get mine from www.desertvapes.com i have both the iclear30b and the iclear x.1

aside from that i would recomend carto tanks.
ibtanks, phiniac and crazyvapes.

cartomizers alone will work fine too.

and as a matter of fact i use those exclusively on my vv3.
i buy them from desertvapes as well. the boge LR
i feel a couple at a time, put some drip tips on them, vape them to the flavor gets light.
switch carto's.

and they can be refilled 7plus times.

i can not count any more the many different tanks i've used.
i have finally settled on the iclear bottom dual coils, cartomizers and cartotanks.
nothing else for me is really worth it.
