Hey guys I'm new to the forum but not to vaping. Just bought a pico 25 and ello sub ohm and started reading up on safe battery vs ohm resistance etc. Officially confused now Can't figure out if the continuous rate on the battery I have (20A) is too low for my 0.3ohm coil. Any advice on which threads to read that dumb it down for me a bit? Im used to using higher resistance coils and low voltage mods so I'd really appreciate any help. Thanking you

Efest 18650, 3000mAh, 3.7v, 35A. Continuous drain 20A on istick pico 25 with Ello tank on 0.3ohm coil.

That battery should be fine for now. Efest are notoriously over-rated and the actual cell under the wrap could be almost anything.
When it is time for a new cell (300-500 charges), please consider buying from a trusted vendor a battery made by the same companies that make high end televisions. (Sony, Samsung, LG)

Cheers

I will second the suggestion to get a reputable battery. I have a few efests (got sent some with a purchase) and I absolutely hate them. They are worthless, overinflated, and really, you can get better wattage options with an authentic battery. Good luck. I'd stay at fairly low wattage until you can get a higher rated battery... Good luck.

WATTAGE PER SINGLE BATTERY:

20W-45W:
Samsung 18650 30Q, 3000 mah 15 CDR
Sony 18650VTC6 3000mAh 15 amp CDR
20W-60W:
LG 18650HG2 3000mah 20 amp CDR
LG 18650HE2 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Samsung 18650-25R, 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC5, 2600 mah 20 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC4, 2100 mah 23 amp CDR
AW 18650 3000 mah 20 amp CDR
30W - 75W:
LG 18650 HD4 2100 mah 25 amp CDR
LG 18650 HD2 2000 mah 25 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC5A, 2500 mah 25 amp CDR
60W - 90W:
LG18650HB6 1500mah 30 amp CDR
LG18650HB2 1500mAh 30 amp CDR
LG18650HB4 1500mAh 30 amp CDR

In the interests of keeping things simple:
If you use a good quality 15 amp CDR battery like the Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6, then you are good up to 45 watts per battery; 90 watts using two; 135 watts for three batteries.

If you use a good quality 20 amp CDR battery like the LG HG2 or Samsung 25R then you are good for 60 watts per battery. If using a 2-battery regulated mod, your good for 120 watts as you have two batteries. If you are using a 3-battery mod, you're good for 180.

Using a 25 amp battery like the Sony VTC5A, you'll be good for 75 watts per battery, 150 watts with two.

If you use a single 30 amp CDR battery like the LG HB6 you are good up to 90 watts; with a pair of 30 amp CDR batteries you could safely do 180 wattss.

Well. Ima happy little bunny. Got my liquid mixed at the right ratios and the new kit is clouding up my room nicely. My room now smells like strawberry milkshake :) Liking this sub ohm lark  Thanks everyone. Just need to get a new battery now
Happy you're happy. Welcome to the community.

Rule of thumb: Keep it under 60W. Ideally in the low to mid 50s. While efests are overstated, as everyone mentioned, I think the 20A is probably not that far off the mark.

The mod is regulated and there's built in protection, but there's always a chance of harming your batteries.

The good news is that once your batteries have degraded, you can go buy quality ones.

The topic of the Pico25 being a 1 battery 85W device recently came up, and how hard it could be to power the ELLO tanks.

Seemed like some people here didn't mind vaping it at ~3.0 volts. I can't imagine that being enjoyable myself but worth your try. Personally i'd need at least 45W (~3.7 volts)

And this is why I don't recommend the Pico 25. Not because the mod is not a great device. But because the mod and tank don't make sense as a pair to me. Recommend manufacturer wattage setting and single battery are way too close for beginners to have a fool proof solution.

Hi and welcome. Nobody knows what actual battery you have under that Efest wrap. Assuming it's an actual 20A CDR cell-- many of them are, according to Mooch-- you should be good up to about 60 watts. But since we don't know, hold it under 50 for a while at least, and check for heating or any other sort of problem indicator while you use it. And buy a good battery as soon as you can: Sony, LG or Samsung.
