I noticed your thread and wanted to thank you for your help. I have been trying to chase clouds myself  But, now, since you have said try each resistance I have at 4 volts I am going to give it try! Although, taste is what is most important to me.

If you are using a cartomizer or clearomizer, I would honestly say you don't have to worry too much about it. Get some LR coils, and vape at what suits you.

If you want to cloud chase, I recommend getting a RDA, which can be acquired pretty cheaply, and start building coils. Mess with the number of wraps, the gauge of the coil, the size of the airholes, etc. There are more factors in vapor production than just ohms and wire temperature. Airflow is also a big factor in delivering huge vapor clouds and I have personally noticed that different mixtures of PG/VG in an e-liquid also affects the thickness of the vapor.

As far as flavor goes, in my opinion rebuildables (when built correctly) always deliver a better flavor than OTC coils.

When talking about ohm ratings, consider the word "resistance" exactly for what it is. Electricity is at its basic level the movement of electrons across the surface of a metal wire. Less resistance (low ohms) means less resistance for the electrons to move on the wire's surface = more electrons moving, moving faster and therefore more power (voltage) resulting in more drainage of stored energy (amperage) from the battery.

Standard or higher resistance means there is resistance of the electrons moving on the wire's surface = less electrons moving, moving slower, and thereby less amperage being pulled from the battery.

Edit: Let me clarify that the above is meant to be understood for over-the-counter factory made coils. I have no hands-on experience with sub ohm.

The one thing left out of Bad's post about temperature.... "On the same gauge wire" Lower resistance is hotter.

I also hate a hot vape... But love flavor and a ton of vapor... That's how I ended up in sub ohm vaping... It's the only way I've find to achieve a cool vape with a lot of vapor

This has been a good discussion.

I just have one disagreement. If one is using a VV/VW there is absolutely no need to buy LR atomizing devices. (The pre-made variety). I recommend otherwise.

LR was invented so people using unregulated devices could get a warmer vape. VV/VW was invented so one could adjust the amount of power going to the coils, so needing a LR on a VV simply not true.

As stated earlier, one's battery lasts longer between charges with higher ohm atomizers and I imagine one could say it is less stressful for them.

Personally, I have found the SR (or higher) store bought coils more tasty and have a longer life. YMMV
