i really like vaping but i'm confused i fill a cart and then take a hit or two and it hits awesome then after that for 2-3 it kinda burns my throat
It could be the type of cart of filler or it could be that the atty needs to be blown out or a combination of both. Occassionally, I also get the burnt harsh throat hit after 2 - 3 hits. When this happens remove the cart and blow out the atty. Works everytime for me to get rid of the burnt and harsh throat hit.

Edit: What I mean by combination of both is you may consider using a cart mod to reduce the pooling of liquid in the atty to reduce the frequency of the burnt tasting throat hits. Regardless of cart mod you will need to clean / blow out the atty once in awhile.

It sounds like the atomizer is getting dried out. This can happen even if your cartridge is full of juice. Does it also taste awful, when it starts to burn your throat?

The stock cartridge and filler is usually good enough for people who don't vape heavily, but falls behind for people who do. The problem is that the filler material has to "wick" the juice from the bottom, wet part up to the section that was just dried out by heat from the atomizer while you were vaping. That takes a little time, and the filler just isn't up to the job if you're a heavy vapor. By "heavy", I mean every few minutes you are hitting your PV. If you only hit it 2 or 3 times per hour, the stock filler will probably work for you.

I'm a heavy vapor, so it didn't work at all for me.

The "spring mod" will work better for heavier vapors, but it has been improved upon by the "paperclip mod", which was in turn improved by using plastic instead of galvanized metal (there were safety questions about the remote possibility of inhaling vapor from a small piece of galvanized steel that managed to find it's way to the atomizer).

This thread is only 6 pages long, and I suggest reading all of it so you understand the progression. Or at least read the first page and the last 2 or 3.

There is also the "Zero Filler Mod" that I haven't tried, because I gave up on all of this long ago, and started dripping.

i was maybe thinking of blue foam do u think that would work?

Hi neighbor. I'm just outside Cincy on the Ohio side.

The blue foam works wonders for me. I did try a couple of different types of blue foam though and it did make a difference. I use Marineland Rite-Size U blue foam that I picked up at PetSmart. It wasn't my idea, I stole (or borrowed) it from the thread that quasimod mentioned.

I cut it, washed it and started playing around to find what worked best. I use it as a plug, 1/2" long x 1/4" wide folded over and inserted into the top of the cart. I get not leaking and I taste nothing, but juice. This works for me in my 510, but you will probably have to do some trial and error to find the best fit for you. The stuff was cheap enough, 7 or 8 dugs (I think) and one pack will last quite a while.

Still as others have stated, the filler may not even be what is causing your throat burn.

Quick way to find out: Remove the filler from a cart, drip 2 drops onto the atomizer, replace the (empty) cart, and vape. You'll get a few mediocre vapes, then one or two really good vapes, then the flavor will diminish (and the vapor may actually increase slightly), just before the atty is dry. When you get a burnt taste, the atty is dry. That's not good for the atty, and it tastes bad. You quickly get to know when the atomizer needs another 2 drops, so you can avoid letting it go dry.

That's called "dripping", and that's what I do almost exclusively (hate fiddling around with carts). If it's still giving you the burning sensation in your throat, then the problem isn't with the filler, because you're getting nothing but vape (unless it's a new atomizer and you didn't get all of the shipping fluid out of it).

CAUTION: If you're using a non-sealed automatic battery (no button), and you drip way too much juice, the juice can leak into the battery through the hole in the atomizer, and ruin the battery or the switch.

You could also try dripping into the atomizer sometimes (but I would recommend you only try dripping with a sealed manual battery so you don't short and kill the battery with eLiquid by accident; it's really easy to do this with an automatic)
It can be a chore for some, getting the blue foam to work without flooding the atomizer. I would definitely suggest you read through some threads on using blue foam or the other mods suggested before experimenting with them. Might save you a great deal of hassles.
