Considering an E-power, want some input please

I am currently using the Riva 1100Mah and am very happy with this. I have been eying the E-power and I like that the batteries can be up to 3000Mah, are cheaply replaced, and have a constant output. I guess my first question would have to be am I correct in those statements? Also for those who have gone from their ego or Riva to an E-power, was it worth the change or is the difference of .5 or so volts that big of a difference to justify another starter kit?

From what I've read the new 18650 epowers will handle up to the 3000mah (they suggest the 2200mah batts). I also understand they "are" a regulated 3.7v device. I am also eyeballing the epower as a smaller backup and to start a friend of mine on vaping and getting him off the analogs. I started with Joye ego 1000mah batts with usb passthrough charging. I gave them to another friend to get him off the analogs after I got my provari. I am thinking of the epower instead of getting the egos again for the same reasons. I'd rather spend $5 on a new battery instead of $25 and have a regulated device, plus if the switch goes bad I can buy just the switch. With the ego if anything goes bad you are SOL. JMO!!!

Once I trash my eGo batts, I'm going with the e-Power. By that time the 'bugs' should be addressed. BUT, by that time there may be a 'bigger & better'. I do enjoy watching the e-cig equipment evolution. There's just soooo many opportunities in this infant industry!

Thus far I have been pretty good at avoiding the latest and greatest thing. A person could spend an absolute fortune chasing all of the possibilities out there. I too will wait till I at least have a battery go bad so I can justify the expense. Thanks

I'm thinking/planning on e-power for next replacement too. Cheaper batts would be nice. It's made by Smoktech and I'm not too impressed with the brand, have seen sticky button issue, but others swear by them. For $40 on sale at Madvapes, with 2 1,000 mAh batts, not bad. It's the 18650 E-Powers that are having problems, the 14650 are working, I got the 14650 model and the batt lasts me all day even with an LR clearomizer. As far as batts go you'd be better off sticking with one of our suppliers, a lot of the Ultrafire batts are counterfeits. Spending the extra dollars on AW batts is highly recommended, they'll last a lot longer. You'll have to get the AW 14670 which is the same as the Ultrafire 14650 only better.

I have had my E-Power 14650 S.S. for 2 months and use it everyday all day and I have had no problems whats so ever. I like carrying a charged battery with me so I never run out of power. It looks very nice too. I would suggest with the parts that screw together, battery tube and cone, that you apply a very small amount of lube on it to start with, it makes it screw together with out squeaking and will make the treads last longer. Use Vaseline or oil, just a very small amount. Also I think its a good idea to screw it together with out the battery so you feel how it should go together, then put in the battery and never force it, if it gets tight back it off and do it again, other wise you could harm the treads by cross threading. This is true with anything that is screwed together. Just a helpful hint.

EDIT: I also have the 18650 and again no problems. The paint does scratch a little but other than that it works great and you can get a 3000 mAh replacement battery if you want. Both E-Power's, you can buy replacement parts, battery tube, cone or a new switch separately if you ever need one.

I recommend the 14650 model because it's fairly big at that point already. As far as taste and vapor production goes, I really don't notice much difference between the joye 650 batts and the e-power. Both work well right up until they start blinking at you. I use 2.0 ohm and 2.4 ohm attys, 2.5 ohm ce2s, and 1.5 ohm duel coils on both.

The 14650 is listed as 1050mah, but madvapes claims they're more like 1300mah. I've seen some places list them at 1600mah but I think these places are over-rating all their batteries (seems to be somewhat common). I know they last about twice as long as my 650 batts so I think madvapes is right.`

hoosierecigsupply has them right now for $15 plus $5 shipping but it's the bare bones mod. No batteries but the batteries are cheap. No charger either. Good deal if you wanted a backup.

I have all 3 models. There's really no difference between the 14500 and 14650 size wise but the life of the 14500 is shorter. I prefer the 18650 with a 3000mah battery. I haven't had any issues as of yet but I'm fairly gentle with my vaping gadgets.

Iffy, why wait? If you like your ego, you'll like the e-power. At the moment, I have a 2.5 ohm clearo on the e-power with 18mg ry4, and I was vaping that earlier. It's sat aside and I'm vaping some 11mg coffee by dripping into a 2.0 ohm atty on the ego before beddy-bye. Although it's only 11mg, and 80/20, I can't imagine liking it any hotter than the 2 ohm atty is providing.

Once you get your e-power and put it in rotation with your ego, you're saving a little money, because what vaping you do on the e-power will be on cheaper batteries. Then when your ego dies, you can think about another mod for backup.

(I'm looking at the vapage unit because I just like the looks of it lol)

Thanks for confirming that Robotfactory, I was under the wrong impression there then. That was one of the reasons I was considering this of course so that is good to know. From someone who has both, I will ask you. The 18650 version seems like it would be a beast size wise and I am not sure I am looking for anything that big but I am attracted to the ability to stack when the 5V switch becomes available for more flexibility. What is your impression in regards to size?

You'll have to get the AW 14670 which is the same as the Ultrafire 14650 only better.

The 14670 is actually 2mm longer than the 14650, and I'm not convinced they'll fit. As far as I know no one has actually tried it yet. There are IMR 14650 batteries available and they should be nearly as good as the AW versions.

I think you will have a long wait for under $10. Its a 3 piece unit, battery tube, switch, and cone, and if you don't have batteries for it, or a charger then you will need them also, Just my opinion. Being you have 14 E-go batts already I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy anything either. E-go is a good product, but I have not seen it under $10 either, and once you have a E-power you can replace parts and batteries cheaper.

Sorry if I gave misinformation, I was going by the sites I've been on and the info they list, here's an example:

States that it is a regulated 3.7v switch on both the kit and replacement switches.

the 18650 is pretty large, not obnoxiously large by any means, but large enough that i don't take it with me out of the house. i typically use the 18650 for dripping around the house and use my 14650 with a carto for when i am out of the house.

the battery life on the 14650 is awesome with the volt cartos that i have been using, and the 14650's build quality just feels a bit better that the 18650 i have. they are both pretty awesome for the price, but just keep in mind they are not regulated, if that is an important feature for you.

I have always had to change batts before anything has ever blinked at me, BUT it doesnt seem to matter! Just pop a new batt in! I love my rivas too, also a true 3.4, so THAT part wouldnt be a difference. Ego's ARE lower though.

I go back to my rivas when my hand starts to cramp with the 18650
