Thanks for confirming that Robotfactory, I was under the wrong impression there then. That was one of the reasons I was considering this of course so that is good to know. From someone who has both, I will ask you. The 18650 version seems like it would be a beast size wise and I am not sure I am looking for anything that big but I am attracted to the ability to stack when the 5V switch becomes available for more flexibility. What is your impression in regards to size?

You wernt under the wrong impression!! They ARE supposed to be regulated, I just dont see it!!

So it looks like the 14650 is about as long as 1,000 mAh eGo, but wider. I can't see how you'd fit any cone over those things. What are they?

They're Baby Notta tanks from Stormy. I didn't mean the cones wouldve fit over them, rather that I wouldve taken the pic with the cones on (instead of the tanks) so madjack could get a true comparison of what they look like beside each other

Yes, know what you meant, not questioning, just commenting on size of those tanks. :) They are interesting, never seen before, but I'm not mod savvy.

...thankx, I appreciated the pic as well...anyone else???...I am looking at the comparisons to decide if my next upgrade will be to an E-Power(for carrying when out and about) or get something like a roughstak/D.O.D. to sit on the table by my chair and keep using my Rivas when out in public..............

i got the 18650 mod and love it, got it from lf the first switch i got the little chip underneath the botton got moved over to the side and i ordered a new one, just had to pop the botton off the old one and move it over to make it work but had to do it every few days so got tired of dealing with it. the battery life is great, with a 2.4/2.6 ohm ce3 the battery will last 2 days, with a dual coil it will last about a day n a half, the paint does chip off really easily i ended up just sanding all mine off because i ended up with a bunch of little black paint specs in my pocket. deffinetaly worth the upgrade i came from a riva and wanted better battery life, voltage is the same as the riva's at 3.7 except with the older ones like your 1100 riva unc
edit: this thing is HUGE compared to the riva, i didn't like it at first but you get used to it after like a week

The 14670 is actually 2mm longer than the 14650, and I'm not convinced they'll fit. As far as I know no one has actually tried it yet. There are IMR 14650 batteries available and they should be nearly as good as the AW versions.
Well if you measure the 14650 from Ultrafire it's the same length as an AW 14670, AW uses the actual size of the batt.

Excellent, very good to know! My info was coming from Andrew (the maker of AW batts), but he may not be aware that the Ultrafires are actually longer than they indicate...

Ultrafires are a lot of things they don't indicate, a good example is the time I bought 12 Ultrafire batts, out of the gate 3 were dead and I don't think a one of them had the rated mAH printed on the batt. I stopped using them and switched to AW, so far they've far out performed the Ultrafire and Trustfire's by a country mile. Not to mention that someone is counterfeiting Ultrafires and Trustfires, it's turned into a crap shoot getting real one's.

All the descriptions of the 18650 and 14650 E-power's say they are 3.7 volts regulated.
The E-Powers are regulated because when this type of batt comes off the charger it has 4.2 volts on it, by regulating at 3.7 volts it stays there a lot longer than with an unregulated device. That's why you don't notice any decrease in performance longer than with an unregulated device.
