Both my joye ego and my e-power are well regulated. I'm not sure about quality control from smok tech though, as several have reported drop off performance from the e-power. Perhaps check for it early and contact your vendor if it occurs????

I have smoktech batteries in my 18650 (have since got some AW hi drain ones for when they go) I've noticed after around 2 months of pretty solid use they do drop in performance quicker then they used to, I still get a good heavy day vaping, probaly a day and a half, prefer to change them over once a night to ensure my vapes a little more consistent.

On the flip side I've never had any issues at all with my e-power. The switch works as well as the day I got it and with a bit of 3in1 no lax substitue (can't seem to get it here in uk) the thread slide right on with no bother. Had paint flicking pretty quick, but I think it's fine with the slightly cigar looking bronzy brass underneath so it didn't bother me, I would say I'd prob have gone for the chrome in hindsight, but unlike Grimm green I've no probs at all with my 18650 bat versions at all so far. Great device for the cost of most eGO starter kits from a lot of vendors.

Ultrafires are a lot of things they don't indicate, a good example is the time I bought 12 Ultrafire batts, out of the gate 3 were dead and I don't think a one of them had the rated mAH printed on the batt. I stopped using them and switched to AW, so far they've far out performed the Ultrafire and Trustfire's by a country mile. Not to mention that someone is counterfeiting Ultrafires and Trustfires, it's turned into a crap shoot getting real one's.

The E-Powers are regulated because when this type of batt comes off the charger it has 4.2 volts on it, by regulating at 3.7 volts it stays there a lot longer than with an unregulated device. That's why you don't notice any decrease in performance longer than with an unregulated device.
Good information on the E-power i'm sure allot of people will like to see this information. On your Ultrafire batteries you may indeed received counterfeit batteries. The Ultrafire batteries I have clearly printed on the wrapper says-- BRC 18650 3000mAh, 3.7 li-ion. Shelf life 10 years, low discharge rate,no memory effect, short circuit and over current protection. They did misspell a word or maybe I don't understand, it says Sheef-life 10 years.LOL I hope this info is helpful to you.

Yah, three are 18650, 2 batts for the 14650. Beyond that, what can I expect them to be?
I would say what ever your batteries are, will work just fine. A battery with higher milli amp hours ( mAh ) will last longer between charges. So the higher the mAh's the longer it will last. Like I said in my post I have a 3000 mAh 18650 that I bought to get a stronger battery than what came in my kit. The kit came with 2 18650 2200 mAh batteries and I use them also they just don't last as long between charges as the 3000 mAh battery does. My 14650 E-Power came with 1050 mAh batteries and I already had some of the same batteries, so with so many of them, and they work just fine, I'm not looking for a higher mAh battery in that size and don't know if they ever make one. hope this is clear as mud. LOL
