Hi All!
I am considering trying the e-cig for the following reasons:
I smoke at work but only about 10 cigs aday, but when i get home to my 2nd job,(sitting in front of a computer develpoing websites to sell) i chain smoke.
The problem is (outside of the obvious ) my wife has recently had a medical setback that has required her to quit smoking. I only smoke in my office while i am at home (yes i have an airpurifier in it) but she can still smell the smoke and makes her want to smoke.
My goal to start is to use the e-cig while at home. My question is can anybody recommed
A reliable product ie. chargers work, ionizers work etc
The amount of cartridges etc i woud need to keep on hand.
Differance between carts and oil
Best tabacco taste (i currentl smoke light 100's)
Anything else i need to know
Thans for your time

Hello, you're a fellow web developer, I see. I'm full-time though, but nice to see more of us here :)

I can't recommend anything yet from personal experience as far as e-cigs. But I CAN make recommendations based on popular opinions I've seen here. I had a VERY bad experience with ePuffer.com as have many many other members here - STAY AWAY from ePuffer whatever you do. There's also a suppliers blacklist thread here in the forums: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-suppliers-consumers-should-warned-about.html

I currently have 3 other orders being shipped to me: Vapor King from Steve at Vapor4Life (SmilinEnterprise@aol.com for inquiries), a Vapor Vipor also from Vapor4Life, and a Bloog from BloogPlanet.com

I don't know how much you already know about e-cigs, but the Vapor King is a 2 piece design rather than the traditional 3 piece. That means there is no seperate atomizer, the atomizers are built in to the cartridges, also called a disposable atomizer unit. With every new cart you get a brand new atomizer. These are called Loong Totem v9 or LTv9 style e-cigs.

The Bloog is the same concept as the Vapor King, it is an LTv9 style with the disposable atomized cartridge.

The Vapor Viper is a DSE 901 style e-cig, and is the traditional 3 piece with the cart and atomizer seperate.

Generally, the LTv9 style of e-cigs produces about as much vapor as you can possibly get out of an e-cig. If you are looking for a smooth smoke, I would recommend the Bloog, if you are looking for a throat hit closer to a real cig and the ability to get higher levels of nicotine in each cart, go for the Vapor King.

If you are looking for something a bit cheaper I would go with the Vapor Viper or other DSE 901 model to start, I've also heard good things about the Intellicig EVO, the Pilot from Puresmoker.com (currently moving and not taking orders), and the Janty Dura-C has got some good reviews although is very new and not very well time tested.

The penstyle is what I use. (have only ordered from puresmoker) I would recommend a USB passthrough for when your at the computer. Liquids are cheaper but you would need to drip or top off more frequently than changing a cart. The low nicotine would probably be equal to lights. As far as flavor juices, you would really need to try several and choose per your taste. Some love the menthol juices and have never liked mentol cigs (analogs) I hope all the best for your wife and yourself. E-cigs to me have become a satisfactory choice as I had to quit due to my husbands lung cancer and hes in the process of quiting with the e-cigs as well. You will go through more items and such early on but then you should get your groove on what is right for you. I was a heavy smoker of 2 pks a day full flavor 100s and the med nic juices and carts are fine for me although i change carts out about 3 x a day. If I fill or drip or top off the juice amount varies but its still around 3 cart amounts or so it seems. Hope this helps some.

I agree with chokmah. The PS Penstyle is the way to go, in my opinion. Be sure to definitely purchase atleast a spare atomizer and a spare charger though.. You will not regret it! It is reliable, but you you don't want to get stuck in a bad situation where something goes wrong. Just always be prepared. Sorry I cannot give input on a Tobacco tasting liquid. I am a menthol smoker so Cash's true menthol is my vape of choice.. But once you find it make sure to purchase e-liquid and blank carts. Much cheaper in my opinion!

Here's a couple of links that will help you IMMENSELY!

(And they're all on this site, too :D )

E-Cigarette Reviews

E-Cigarette Video Reviews

E-Liquid Reviews

Now...as for your other questions :

The amount of cartridges etc i woud need to keep on hand.

Very few (10...ish) if you learn to re-stuff them (note that this video is specific to the M-401 style e-cig (evo / pilot) but can be applied to e-cigs in general). You'll also want to learn how to refill your carts...there are several methods but all of them end at putting liquid into the cart...it's easy as falling off a log. (If you can drip water into a thimble, you can refill a cartridge)

Differance between carts and oil

The liquid (what you're calling the oil) is what gets vaporized and you, in turn, inhale. (it's also what we buy HEAPS of in order to refill our carts)

The cartridge is what holds the liquid and passes it to the atomizer.

Best tabacco taste (i currentl smoke light 100's)

There's nothing out there that actually tastes like a cigarette, at this time. The best flavors I have found, thus far, that are more like a cigarette than a "flavor" are e-smokeytreats regular and Totallywicked Marlboro.

Anything else you need to know will almost certainly be covered in these forums :)
