My boyfriend has been having a lot of issues with his ecig lately. Mostly he's been vaping from a protank 2 on a kamry x6 VV battery, but he has also tried a vivi nova and ego c battery. He seems to be getting a lot of burnt hits and is running through protank heads like mad. I'm unsure how to help him. Voltage is usually at 3.7.
I thought that it was maybe the juice he was vaping -vanilla malt from ecblends. But, he said he's tried other juices with much the same result.
Any idea what the issue could be? Maybe he hits it too long, too often or something?
What ohm atomizer is he using?
What ratio pg/vg of juice?
A fix that will often work is to remove the top wicks that come on kanger atomizer heads.
It's very easy, and I always do this to help eliminate dry hits. If he gets leaking as a result just replace them.

Other issues can be overtightening (when putting a new atomizer head in, or the bottom cap back on, or when putting the tank onto your device all of which can also cause leaking).
Vaping at too high of power. Start at lowest power first and work your way up to taste.
Burning your rubber grommets can leave a permanent burnt taste until cleaned. Have a look at the rubber grommet if all else fails. It is under the coil, or take apart one he's not using and pull it out to check on it.
Also as previous poster said, some sweet liquids will caramelize liquid onto your coil and make your hits taste funny, in which case you need to clean your coil or switch juices.
Something that very often fixes burnt hits if all else fails and you can't figure it out is to do some "dry pulls" by sucking in sharply a few times without firing the device to help wick your coil. Can do this before you vape everytime until you figure out what the problem is.
Also make sure he's vaping correctly. A proper way to inhale is to suck in vapor gradually and slowly into your mouth until there is enough vapor in your mouth, and then inhale. Breathe through your nose during this if you need to.
Sometimes the center post is pushing into the coil too, so in that case just push your coil down a little bit to prevent that, but not down so far that you burn the rubber grommet under it.
