In 2009 my Mom paid for our family of 9 to go to Kona, HI and be there for 1 - 2 weeks (some of us luckier folks got to stay for 2 weeks) so that we could be there for the 1 year anniversary of my Dad's passing. She knew that Dad would want us all to see the places there that he loved so much and that it would be very special for us all to be there together on the 1 year anniversary. So on that day I got a Tattoo to celebrate his life and my memories of him. It is a picture of the hook necklace he was wearing when he passed away, it is now mine. He used to get me a new one each year when they went to Hawaii but that year he was only able to find one like the one shown in the Tattoo, he was still looking for mine. I believe that he was meant to only be able to get the one as it would be passed on to me. The Tattoo also has a band of Maile which is customarily reserved for memorable occasions. This Tattoo keeps him with me and reminds me of him and it reminds me of the wonderful trip to Hawaii my family took and the laughter and tears we shared during that trip. Life is good!

The look of my little daughter face when we pick up 2 guinea pigs off Craigslist. She always like seeing them when we would go to the pet store. She loves giving them carrots and lettuce. She just is fascinated with them even after a few months we have them. Brings a smile to my face always checking them out and petting them.

Another great moment was when my wife told that she would buy me my first pinball machine, Dr. Who. She knew Dr Who is my all time favorite sci fi series and that I have always wanted to own one. I just happen to find one at local laundromat got her to play it and she enjoyed it till we broke one of the ramps. So she told me if I could find one for a decent price that she would buy it for me. I look and look and finally found one that was 9 hours away and wheel and deal with the guy and we made the 18 hour round trip to pick it up.
Needless to say that brought me a really big smile. I love my wife :)

The look from the kids when I get another arcade machine. Well sometimes I do get one they do not care. Usually the first one to try any machine is my 3 year daughter. She is usually there when we pick one up working or not. She will push you out of the way because she thinks it is hers first and everybody is second :) . She loves just sitting there and see something moving on the screen if it is a working machine. Then when the weekends come I get my 2 boys and they sit there for hours on end playing them. Always nice to see my kids enjoy some classics games the way they are supposed to be played and not a video game console with a handheld controller. Do not get me wrong nothing is wrong with consoles like the feel of a full size arcade machine.

I love seeing that my 2 boys now 10 and 14 enjoy playing classic gaming systems. I have misc older game systems from Atari to recent consoles. He really liked playing games Atari lately and one week I got them said he bought 6 atari's and games off this guy from craigslist and he was wondering if I could take a look at them and see if they work. Needless to say I was kinda upset at first that he did not wait till he was actually here so I could check them out before he spent 100 bucks on these. The next week that I pick them up he gets all of them and the games for me to check them out.
I notice that some was just plain crap, water damage and such. Plug up a couple and switches was stuck and misc, so I start taking them apart and what did I happen to see old dead roaches. This is just so great, I just wanted to throw them all away but decided to say screw it and try and clean the crap. Out of 6 I got 3 fully working and in almost pristine state.
He was so happy that I was able to fix a couple and that he and his brother could actually play it at thier moms house.
Even though I may have been upset at first seeing him and his brother happy was enough to put a smile on my face.
But he does know that he tells me and I go with him if he wants to buy anything else. :)

Hmmmm guess I let the time get away from me and it's 6 in the morning, oh well it was good reliving some of the goods times in my life.
