My late father had a lot of friends and visitors, so I made him some holiday cheer to share with them during his last Christmas here. I continue to make it every year during the holidays to continue the tradition.
Original Irish Cream
1 cup heavy cream (I use ½ & ½)
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 2/3 cups Irish whiskey (I use Jameson’s)
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules (I dissolve it in part of the milk first by microwaving)
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend on high for 20 to 30 seconds. Store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator. Shake well before serving.
I have also made it with brandy which is also very good.
A shot can also be added to coffee or cocoa. [I got the recipe from allrecipes.com]
