I think this is where this should go.
Anyways, I won a cool fire 1 in a raffle at my local vape shop. I'm looking to add it to my arsenal but it takes an 18650 battery and I'm not even sure where to start with what to buy, will any 18650 fit? What's some good brands? How much should I spend? Do I need a new charger with it? etc...
Thanks!

First off the Cool Fire 1 in standard configuration takes a 18350 battery, but there is a extension available for using a 18650, so be sure of what you have first....:)

For a battery in either size, you want to use an IMR high drain, avoid any ICR or batteries that say protected. The IMR are labeled as unprotected as their chemistry is safer and doesn't need it.

AW, Sony, Samsung, Efest are some of the more popular batteries, just be sure to buy from a reputable dealer as there are a lot of fakes being sold lately. Cost-wise figure your batteries should last for a year or two, a couple extra bucks over two years is cheap to afford the best.

You will need a charger made for Li-ion batteries, they will charge various sizes and a good quality will help your batteries last longer. Xtar and Nitecore are the respected brands, and again a good charger should last you for years.

p.s. Congrats on the win!!!...:toast:

I have a coolfire 1 and use efest imr 18650, 2000 mah, 3.7v,( v2 the red ones). I believe the are 10a but that is not marked on the battery.
if you don't purchase the 18650 extenstion then you will only be able to use 18350 with and you will be recharging batteries all day.

I get about 6 to 7 hours out of the 18650, using a 2.1 ohm coil. (heavy vapor). using same batteries for 6 months.

I would say any that are the same size as the ones I mentioned above will fit. and lastly, since it is requlated at 8.5W you won't have to spend money on high amp batteries. I spend about $7 each.
