I'm using the kbox that came with the subtank mini kit ☺️
I have 28g at hand

Try this:

twist some 28 gauge together. (takes a bit of work to twist by hand; loop it around a fixed point, make one twist, spreadeagle the legs and continue twisting spreadeagle about 30 to 50 times or more.)

wrap a 7 wrap around a 3mm diameter;

should give you about 1 ohm and vape around 20 to 30 watt range.

Rach, I use the Mini's all the time and a 26ga .8 ohm coil will give you the vape your looking for with that build.

A 2.5mm 26ga six wrap is a stud build in the STM. How far do you have your coil off the deck? Get the top of the coil even with the screws on the deck, even a little bit higher is OK. I keep mine at least 3mm off the deck, its about airflow around the coil. Make sure when you wick your cotton isn't smothering you airflow. When you build and prime your coils you should get plumes of vapor blowing out of the sides of your coil.

You coil to close to your deck/airflow will mute flavor. Give this a shot and let me know if it works. It's simple, easy and produces great flavor.

Do you have a drill that you can utilize?... If so twist 2 strands together and make an 8 wrap coil 2.5mm inner diameter. It will fit. Should be a much cooler vape at 30 watts and have the flavor your looking for should be about .32 ohms[/QUOTE

Just tried it! Not sure what happened but it's spitting a lot, and reading .6 ohms. It did initially ready .3 before testing on the ohms reader.

I think I need to do more tinkering!

I'll have to try it when I have 26g at hand. My coil position is like you said and I don't clog too much cotton near the airflow.

Just need more practise :p

Using the 28awg, to get more flavor, Try adding more wraps higher ohms and increasing the power, add surface area to the coil. OR twist the wire build a little lower, I'd start at the .5ohms, since you like the vape at .8.

Twisting wire by hand is easy..

Make 2 S-hooks from a wire coat hanger. Take a length of wire and tie the end to one of the hooks, Loop the hook onto something high enough for the wire to hang free, hook second hook onto bottom of wire loop, hang a weight, I use a pipe wrench from the lower hook, spin/twist wrench, spin till desired twist pitch is reach, slow let the wire back of till it stop self twisting. Remove from hook and wrap coils.

I usually leave the twisted wire attached to the tied on hook. I use this hook to hang a weight from when wrapping the coils to create tensioned NO squeeze contact coils and spaced.
