I think that the Subtank produces better flavor than my Aerotanks, but I doubt it has anything to do with sub-ohming/high wattage. My favorite atty for flavor is my kayfun 4, Tobeco clone, which has much more restricted airflow than any sub-ohm tank. I love my kayfun at 8-10 watts. But it's an RBA.

Kayfun 4 would be a great option, may want to start learning how to build anyway just in case future availability changes.

how much power can you run with it? 10 watts or so?

Kanger recommends no more than 6-7.5 watts (per coil) and I agree. Not enough airflow to support higher wattage (if it's the old single horizontal PT2 coil).

Yeah that is all you can run out of stock T3 and Evod coils.
I run 8 watts in modded T3 coils. Wick slot cut out to 2 mm and a 2mm 30 ga coil with cotton wick.
Air holes also drilled out in the base and the coils.

thought you might get a few more watts with increased airflow but the coil controls that...

I have emphysema, I vape with the aerotank v2 on 19watts/ 5.5 volts and 3mg nic. with 1.5ohms coil, with no problems at all

hi vaporgrl.

Aerotank comes with dual-coil heads; your 1.5Ω atty consists of two 3Ω coils. So, if you're vaping at 5.5v, you're at 10 watts per coil. If you're vaping at 19 watts (in power mode), you're at 9.5 watts (per coil).

Still high for a Kanger stock coil, IMHO, but not quite 19 watts. :D

I'm running an older Kanger kbox. The lowest setting is 8 watts. I'm using a 1.8 ohm single coil pt2 with the subtank airflow turned to the smallest holes. Working just like an evod...but with a lot more juice capacity. I think my subtank just got a new lease on life. I haven't used it for months.

They have a wall with Evods, ego style batteries and lower VG and higher nic juices. These devices you can vape higher PG and higher nic and not get vape too hot.

They then have a wall with Coolfire's, Kanger VV/VW devices etc. They have sub ohm tanks and on this wall they use heavier VG juice (produces more vapour and flavour without getting too hot for the sub ohm coil) and lower nic juices as frankly sub ohming higher than 3-6mg will feel like a much higher strength juice and the throat hit will be too harsh.

I'm currently vaping zero nic on a 0.5 ohm coil at between 25-30 watts and the vape is so dense, flavourful and massive that I don't even need nicotine and if I did, I tried their 3mg juices on this set up and it felt like vaping around 6mg.

Hope that makes sense for you.

I think they do 6mg for the sub ohm juices also, yeah zero, 3mg and maybe 6mg.

subtanks kinda suck. for a good subohm experience, try a tvf4, zephyrus, goblin etc.
ime/imho a good sub ohm setup is easier on the lungs then a higher ohm setup. i cough less, gag less etc. and i too was a heavy smoker.

I really like the subtank Nano. The flavour is awesome, the vapour plentiful and dense and the temperature just right, I don't gag or cough in the slightest with it, whereas on my Dad's ego with clearo at 18mg I certainly do...

Anyhow I've found what works for me which is all that matters. If I even continue with it. The plan is to not need to inhale anything other than oxygen. Though if anything will keep me of the stinkies in the sense of reacting to high stress by saying '________ it' and lighting up - this will be it.

Sorry about your having COPD. Wish there was a fix for that, and it scares the beans out of me.

In so far as "to sub ohm" or "NOT to sub ohm," as far as I can tell, electricity works the same in all of the devices. They ALL, 100% of them, no matter who builds them, ascribe to electronics laws of physics and follow:

where, E = Volts; I = Amps; R = Ohms, we have the following relationship

E = I*R

-OR-

R=E/I

If the battery voltage is a constant, then the box mod can change the amperage to the coil, at whatever resistance the user decides to install. Whether or not it is "sub ohm" or not, the result is the same.

Ype you can sub ohm on a Mech or not sub ohm and vape away at 8 watts or so. depends on your coil resistance on a Mech.
with a regulated you can push the non sub ohm coil to higher wattages though.
