4 months, or so, ago I was a pack a day smoker. Had been for 20+ years. Last year I went to the doctor about my throat because I kept losing my voice for LONG periods of time, upwards of 9 months - 1 year. She did the normal stuff and when checking my lungs she heard a loud flutter. I was then sent for xrays. It came back that almost 25% of my right lung was full of mucus. So I was given treatment for bronchitis and asthma and sent on my way. 2 weeks go by and I take my meds like I am supposed to and return to the doctor. She then determined that because there was no improvement that I had Chronic Bronchitis, now considered COPD. Well over the past 4 months I have quit smoking and moved to vaping exclusively. 2 days ago I went to the doctor for regular stuff and when listening to my lungs she found something strange. The flutter was gone. After confirmation tests she said it really looked like I no longer have COPD. The chronic bronchitis must have been brought on by smoking and that by quitting and choosing to use a PV that I had effectively "cured" myself. I no longer use my inhaler and my lung capacity has skyrocketed!

Congrats to the OP and everyone else reporting such remarkable health improvements. I suffer from COPD also and had been led to understand that it is incurable and the damage irreversible....have I been misinformed??

Not neccessarily, COPD is considered incurable. Especially in those who didnt smoke to begin with. My personal, not a dr, opinion is that smoking causes a COPD like effect on the respiratory system or my dr is an idiot. Im receptive to either. If you jave been vaping for a year or so and your lung issues havent cleared then i would call it chronic. However, if there isn't anymore wheezeing when you breath then i'd have the doc take a look to see if it is gone.

I'm glad that vaping has improved your breathing. I smoked for 35 years and also notice improvements after more than two years of vaping. I have never been diagnosed with COPD.

From my understanding of the definition, damage from COPD is not reversible. COPD can include a lot of symptoms including chronic bronchitis from one end of the scale to emphysema on the other. Emphysema is a progressive disease. It always gets worse even if smoking is stopped. I know about that, my mother died from it.

I agree completely which is why i feel i was misdiagnosed and only had a COPD like complication brought on by my 20 yr infatuation with smoking.
FYI: i found my true love in my personal vaporizer. :)

That is great news!!! I am glad you were able to stop smoking and catch the disease before it was actually COPD. My father was just in the hospital for respiratory failure due to smoking and COPD. He also had a heart attack at the same time, and almost died, thank god he made it.

Like the poster above me stated, COPD is an irreversible disease, and while stopping smoking can help the symptoms, it is definitely a progressive disease and once afflicted with it, is basically no bueno.

Congrats, and don't pick up those icky sticks again!!! Vape On!!!
