I have had a horrible fall, winter and even early spring while smoking with chronic bronchitis and was found to have the first stages of COPD and I am only 35. My pulmonary tests show low air levels thus my reason to quit smoking and start vaping. I sometimes notice that it is hard to breath even with vaping. Anyone else have COPD and vape?

I too was 'diagnosed' w/ the same thing. I went to the ER a year or so ago w/ unrelated symptoms where they did a chest x-ray. They didn't even tell me the results in person, it was on my sheet and my chiropractor is the one who pointed it out. I didn't quit right away but it was the biggest reason why I chose to vape.

So far my lungs feel much better and I've been vaping 6 months. Take a look at the thread, read it w/ a grain of salt and trust your body. Good choice to quit smoking!

Yes I've got it COPD. Occupational hazards, car paint sprayer, filler dust= no mask.
Long term illness that will never get better and need to use inhalers daily. Now 65 years old and get breathless when tyeing my shoe-laces.
Been smoking all my life [ What a .... ] and one reason i would love to quit tobacco but that's not going to happen over night.
Switched over to vaping and cut down from 50+ RYO per day + a pipe to about 10-15 per day, no pipe.
I must say, that even thou i still get outta breath, i am feeling the benefits of vaping and maybe, one-day i will quit the RYO's completely, maybe even get to not needing my inhalers, then cut down on my chain vaping. But gotta cross one bridge at a time.

While in no way attempting to minimize your situation, I'm sure after all these years alot of us have had that talk with our doctor. Usually right before quitting.

It shows up on the chest xray as "air trapping" which means our lungs are not expelling air the way they should. This is also measured on the "peakflow" as you exhale. Lets face it, our lungs are scarred and the alveoli are not functioning properly well enough to empty our lungs enough to get in a large, good breath of new oxygen. As a result, the ever infamous "short of breath".

Giving up analogs is a good step towards preventing further damage. The type of damage that means you end up carrying an o2 machine around with you, etc. We've all seen it. You must talk with your doctor about the proper breathing techniques, exercise you can use now to make your lungs stronger.

Hopefully you are at a stage where your lungs can now be able to repair at least some of the damage. No they probably won't be as good as new but you'll find as time goes by that breathing will become easier.

A diagnoses of "begin stage COPD" is not the end-all and you certainly can drastically improve your condition.

It's all in the breathing. Good luck friend.
