COPD
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is one of the most common lung diseases. It makes it difficult to breathe. There are two main forms of COPD:
* Chronic bronchitis, defined by a long-term cough with mucus
* Emphysema, defined by destruction of the lungs over time
* Most people with COPD have a combination of both conditions.

SYMPTOMS
* Cough with mucus
* Shortness of breath (dyspnea) that gets worse with mild activity
* Fatigue
* Frequent respiratory infections
* Wheezing

Did you have any of these symptoms?
Have these symptoms become less frequent or disappeared altogether since you are now vaping?
Were you already diagnosed with COPD?
Have you had a bout since you started vaping?
Does your doctor think you’re condition has improved?

I have severe COPD and since I started vaping, no more Advair and very seldom need the rescue inhauler. It seems when the weather changes I get a little tight in the chest, but the overall change is like getting my life back. Still use the steriod inhauler at night and expect I will always need it.

I haven't had an episode, which is like an ashma attack, since I started vaping. Haven't been back to the doctor to blow into the machine, so don't know if capacity is better. I got much worse after my last visit, so expect I'm back up to where I was last time I saw the doctor. I'll keep this short because not sure I can post to a Sticky Thread.

I was in the same boat Higbe. I am lucky though because I don't have to use the Advair anymore. When I had a cold a month or so back, doc gave me script for an inhaler and I did get it filled but it's still sitting in the box.

There are times I have a bit of trouble breathing but nothing major. I'm also sure it's in the bronchial and not the lungs although I try not to kid myself. I smoked for around 40 years and I'm sure I will have to pay for that one.

And welcome, and post all you want. Sticky threads are stuck so they are easier to find!!!

my apologies if this is not the correct thread/forum to ask my question ... I have not been diagnosed with COPD ... yet

I am a 3 yr vaper and a 40 yr ex-smoker ... my lungs have improved greatly, however, I still have problems:

I do get short of breath with mild activity and easily fatigued ... I am trying to reduce my nic, currently at 12 -16 mg ... I have several other contributory ailments, Barretts esophagus, type 2 diabetes, an aortic valve replacement, chronic pain in my 2 totally replaced knees, thyroid and gi problems, all of which I take meds for and probably contribute to my fatigue and shortness of breath

here is my question: any health concerns between polypropylene, polycarbonate or delrin vaping tanks ? ... yes, there is now a delrin tube tank being sold ... I know pyrex should be my choice but they are a bit pricy for me on a fixed income ... other than a plastic taste possibly leaching into my juice, are there any other plastic tank issues that will harm my lungs ?

my lung function is most important and I know I should quit vaping, but until I do, what is the "healthiest" tank to use ?

EDIT: I guess I am looking for a medical/scientific/factual type answer

thank you

thanks for answering ... I know my question might be a little picaune, most ppl have used plastic tanks for a long time, and it could very well be that there are only miniscule differences ... using the least harmful is good practice for those of us already with lung issues

there is a vendor that uses a liner inside their tube tank and they tout it as having the best flavor, safer, etc ... of course that is their most expensive tank and they still use the old poly in their cheaper tanks, lol ... just trying to separate the wheat from the chaff ... thank you
