Timing of the issue would certainly be a large factor in any reaction but yeah, if I was able to do so, I'd try separating the top ... in the same motion I was using to drop it. Unless you are outside already, it's probably worth trying to prevent it going full nuclear.

I think Unless I was in an Elevator, full of Blind Children, in an FDA Building, and I was Not wearing Mittens, and my CV started to Vent, that the signal would never reach my Parietal Lobe.

And I would, out of Survival Reflex, just Jettison the Pod.

But ya Never Know until it Happens. So who can say?

The word hack originates from the short sleeve shirt with pens in the top pocket geeks that hung around the DEC PDP-10s at the MIT computer labs in the late sixties. To hack was to modify to purpose beyond it's normal function and didn't apply to just software or hardware. It was a complement and a badge of honor to be considered a hacker.
The word has since become synonymous with criminal or malicious activity. I think it needs to be taken back.

But what happens if you hack a mod?

Removing the top should break the circuit, but if you're too late at least the pressure will remove the top automatically.

Since batteries vent from the positive end, & because batteries swell up before they vent, we probably shouldn’t rely on vents at the bottom.

Btw, I didn't mean that in a derogatory manner. Hack is commonly used today when referring to lots of things including improvements, shortcuts and value added process changes among others.

In any event, my poor choice of words aside, I hope you didn't feel like I was denigrating your efforts as that was most definitely not my intent.

Not a poor choice in words, not taken as derogatory at all. At the end of the day its a bit of a bodge, I just wanted to get the mod working. I used the tools and bits that I had handy to do that. Being able to break the circuit easily is a plus in my view.

Just thought id try to get this thread back on track [emoji106]
The golden small 510 pin is the original one that came with the yuri , the 2.5mm bf pins fit well , not fully tightened it in the yet was just see if would work and appears to fit well , so thats another 22mm rda to add to the list of bf having a dual or single setup makes thus a good vercitile atty , comes with two top caps ss with a mini resin drip tip and a wider small delrin chuff , No Even tried out my Aromamizer V RDA yet but its already a proven bf flavour rda

Hi everyone, my first post on this forum. I had some mirror screw cap covers lying around at home and thought they would make real nice button covers for the coppervape mod, they are very easy to fit just need to file or sand the plastic material on the mod button to fit in the mirror caps and just epoxy it in place, the caps are threaded so if you have the tools you could make the mod button threaded and screw the caps on. The mirror cap covers are available at most hardware stores or fleabay for a couple of quid and are available in a few finishes and colours.

Got them off ebay they are 14mm diameter and are £2.32 for a pack of 4, I used the matt finish for the aluminium mod and Golden finish for the brass mod.

Cool.

And a Great Idea for a Button Mod. Thanks for Posting It.

I've suffered the intermittent, generally often misfire issue, too. Now, I am a problem solver and modder, so I went through all the possibilities of areas where suspect contact points are. The positive is the first point, where the conductor is pinched vs hard connected between plastic button and battery contact screw and between bottle and positive pin, respectively. No real fix, other than making sure it is pinched well without stripping threads. Next is the battery cap, or more specifically, the threads. Aluminum oxide. Best fix for this area and the third is deoxit. I use deoxit fader grease. The third is the contact between body and top. It's a precision milled surface and any contaminant (grit or oxidation) can interfere with conductivity. I used a light sandpaper here, and immediately gave a coat of deoxit. The final possibility of failed continuity is the 510. The fixed positive pin is a pain for atties that have protruding positive pins, but worse for atties with short pins.

Overall, through gratuitous cuss words and tinkering, I can count on my CV BF. Sad that I've had to invest so much effort into making it work right, but for the value, once the problem areas are identified and able to be improved, it's a great little squonker.

Well, my aluminum cv(v2 kit with atty) arrived friday. stock atty isnt bad but the squonk pin is too long, and it was a P.I.T.A. to remove, the metal is super soft and i tore it up pretty good getting it out. thankfully i got a parts kit (v2)so i have a spare.also filed down the sharp edge around the squonk hole. i can disassemble and repair it with my leatherman, which goes with me everywhere (thats a big plus in my book) . i polished it up a bit , did the contacts too. swapped stock atty out for my v1 derringer clone, with a single 24ga x .5ribbon tiger coil and some rayon. lovin it so far. a full battery will do about a whole bottle, so change batt and top off juice at same time. a little larger than a drip box, but not nearly as heavy as my movkin with squonk kit. No misfires or leaks, fits lg chocolates, an 25rs already planning another order for at least one more plus parts kit, derringer v3 clone and some spare bottles.thanks for all the recommendations and tips. switching back to mechs for the first time in almost a year was easy, since i use stainless mostly, and switching to 18650 squonkers vs my 26650 tube and a tank is a lot lighter.

So you ordered the kit and it is definately a V2?

I ask as I have two CV kits on the way and added a few V2 parts kits. I am hoping the latest shipment of mod/atty kits are V2 so the new button fits.
